Rated 5 out of 5 by from One Talented Author! Love conquers all things; let us too surrender to Love. ~Unknown Moontan and Crystal are two street performing clowns who share a loving relationship. The two of them complement each other in their performances. Through their artistic talents it is as though they exist solely for the good of each other. When they learn a historic theater is Auckland is about to be demolished they the two join forces to help save the historic theater. Together will their love and determination be enough to save a relic of the past? Once again Alan Clay has amazed with his unlimited supply of talent. Through MOONTAN, A CLOWN’S STORY his words has projected his readers into the unknown land of Auckland. His descriptive passages were enough to convince me that there is really a theatre in need of saving in Auckland. It played on my emotional feelings enough that I felt I wanted to travel across the world to join forces with Moontan and Crystal’s crusade. Authors such as this who are able to write to a wide variety of audiences are like fine wine, once savored you cannot help but crave more of their intoxicating flavor. I highly recommend if you haven’t yet to experience the wonderment Alan Clay has created to run out to your nearest bookstore, and purchase this talented author books.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Imagery and Character Development MOONTAN, A CLOWN'S STORY is the third novel by Alan Clay that I've read in the past month. Each novel was a cookie~a different cookie for sure, but a cookie. Moontan is a clown who, along with his partner, Crystal, help occupy the arts centre in their town. Their relationship grows as does the belief that old signs of the artworld can be saved along with love. What did I like about it? Like all of Clay's novels, I thought the dialogue was exquisite. The imagery presented was a nuance of feeling and emotion. I love the way that Clay describes physical settings. His word choice is haunting and ethereal. As a teacher, I'm always looking for new sentence choices and examples of good sentence fluencies and structures to show what good writers can do. Clay never fails me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Heart-Warming Adventure I quickly became a fan of Mr. Clay after reading “Believers in Love” and have been making my way through all his books and movies. I really like how he brings you into the story by vividly describing the surroundings and characters. I found myself swept away into the unusual setting, which was strangely different yet strikingly familiar. As I got into the story I was quickly engrossed in these character's lives and their struggles that seemed so real. The charm of the characters shines through and again I was struck by the life of street performers. Their ever changing situations is so foreign to me. I couldn't wait to see how this would end but I also didn’t want their story to come to a close. I would highly recommend this story to anyone that feels down-trodden, or just a little different from the rest of the world. Moontan and Crystal are unforgettable and relatable characters.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love Alan Clay's Novels!! I've read all of Alan Clay's Novels and been touched by each one individually. This one even more so than the others. Two clown entertainers are losing their "home" so to speak. We find out that behind the smile of a clown, a deeper story lies in wake to be discovered underneath the makeup. I did cry for them both in their struggle to fight for their Theatre to remain. They uncover friends along the way while the story also proves how much our society has changed pertaining to entertainment and surrounding areas. This story will grip you, make you fall in love, and like me-will want you to read more from Alan Clay!
