"Books are often described as ‘mind-blowing,’ but this is one of the few books in which, while reading it, I have exclaimed aloud, ‘Oh. My. God.’ on multiple occasions. I won’t tell you anything else about it. Just read it." — John Green

Seth drowns, desperate and alone. But then he wakes. Naked, thirsty, starving. But alive. And where is he? The street seems familiar, but everything is abandoned, overgrown, covered in dust. He remembers dying, his skull bashed against the rocks. Has he woken up in his own personal hell? Is there more to this life, or perhaps this afterlife? From the acclaimed author of the Chaos Walking trilogy and A Monster Calls comes one of the most provocative teen novels of our time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BRILLIANT Patrick Ness is my favourite author. Once again, he crafted a unique work of art that i could not put down. The characters are each different and great, the premise and plot is FANTASTIC, the pacing is perfect, the meanings are intensely incredible, and any flaw i had with this book was diminished because of how brilliant everything else is, nothing bad came out after that. It is one of my all time favourite books, because Ness takes such a simple concept and puts a whole new spin on it, with a whole new meaning behind it. More Than This will have you reading until the end, and loving every second of it!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Well-written, with engaging characters and a major twist I didn't see coming. Unfortunately, I don't think Ness really made the best use of the twist he could. The story wavers between action-thriller and drama after the twist is revealed, but never quite embraces one or the other. The result is a thriller that gets bogged down in places by rather ponderous drama, or a drama that gets fragmented by sudden action sequences. All in all, though, it was a good read. I'd recommend putting it on your reading list, but I wouldn't urge you to push it to the top and just get to it when you get to it.

Ness brilliantly plays with contrasts: life and death, privacy and exposure, guilt and innocence. In characteristic style, the author of the Chaos Walking trilogy delves into the stuff of nightmares for an existential exploration of the human psyche.—Kirkus Reviews (starred review)Books are often described as ‘mind-blowing,’ but this is one of the few books in which, while reading it, I have exclaimed aloud, ‘Oh.
