This exciting story is set in a small, backward and paranoid, Medieval village in Italy that has outlawed magic. A plot is brewing to overthrow King Claudio and the obvious person to blame for the crime is Mangus. Fabrizio, needs desperately to prove he is not just another poor street urchin - can he rise to the task of solving the mystery? Good writing, great pacing, suspenseful with many twists and turns!
