about

(Faber Piano Adventures ). Book C of the Fabers' young beginner method continues the staff-reading adventure with the introduction of skips (3rds). Students first explore skips aurally and kinesthetically across the full range of the keyboard. A delightful variety of songs follow which carefully and comfortably guide the child toward line-line and space-space staff recognition. The new CD for Book C offers a unique listening experience with outstanding orchestrations and vocals. The recordings demonstrate a key principle of the course: when children listen, sing, tap, and move to their piano music, they play more musically.

Reviews

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Faber method rocks! I grew up on Royal Conservatory, played piano & violin. One of my children has done Suzuki violin, the second started on Suzuki piano, and third child had her start on piano with the Faber books. All three are taking piano now (not Suzuki) and the first two kids still have difficulty reading, whereas the third can read music with ease. At one point, she was reading music better than she could read English. Thanks to Faber. They seem to have a unique method of introducing notes and the staff to young kids.... it works! Fun songs and a CD included for you to listen to together, so your child can get a sense of what the songs sounds like. Start with the first book in the series, then move up as your child progresses. We also have the writing book, which I have also been impressed with. It has many creative games and ingenious ways of inspiring kids to learn or review music concepts. I was pleasantly surprised!
