Bobby is the class clown. He can always be counted on to crack up his friends and sometimes even the teachers. But he can't always be counted on to stay out of trouble'and that's no joke when you're in danger of being shipped off to a special school for kids with ‘behavioral problems.' Bobby's got one last chance to prove to his teachers, his principal, and his parents'especially his super-sarcastic dad'that he can be taken seriously. His assignment: to put on a school-wide laugh-off. It's teachers vs. students'and may the best comic win. It's also a chance for Bobby to show his dad that mean jokes aren't just kidding around. Packed with kid-tested jokes and riddles, this funny novel is also a thoughtful exploration of the power of laughter to hurt'and to heal.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Best class-clown book I think that the book is really good because I'm in grade 4 and I think it's good to have a class clown because they get everyone to laugh. And it's always good for young kids like me to laugh. There is one person in my class who is weird but in a funny way. I think this book is awesome. Thanks

From Our Editors

Every class has a jokester that keeps the class in stitches -- and distracts the teacher. Bobby's incessant jokes and stunts have the principal threatening to send him to the School for Intervention, which is just one step away from reform school. Fortunately, Bobby's teacher gives him one last chance. He has to organize a school-wide comedy festival and get teachers and students to compete in My Life as a Fifth-Grade Comedian.
