Rated 5 out of 5 by from An easy but interesting read My son is in grade 1 and is bit of a late reader -- he struggles a bit and gets frustrated easily. However, I read this to him once and he enjoyed it. In fact, he enjoyed it so much that he spontaneously read it to me a day later. While he struggled with some words, he didn't give up and he even read using different voices (believe me, this is a breakthrough when it comes to his reading). What draws him to this book is the humour and the comic book-like speech bubbles (he loves comics). But what makes it great for early readers is the simple but not boring text. There's some repetition in words throughout the text, but it's not a dull read like some so-called "early reader" books. This is our first Mo Willems book, so I cannot compare it to the others in the series.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Funny w great moral Mo's stories are always funny and filled w a moral. This is about how we expect the worse sometimes for nothing... Cute again. Not the funniest. But lots of fun!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love of Reading My daughter's love of reading started once she discovered Pig and Elephant Mo Willems books. She cannot get enough of them. We've read these over and over the last few years and she never tires of them. They have great humor and always teach a nice lesson.
