Nanny Ogg, one of Discworld’s most famous witches, has decided to pass on some of her huge collection of tasty and exceedingly interesting recipes. In addition to the delights of the Strawberry Wobbler and Nobby’s Mum’s Distressed Pudding, Mrs Ogg imparts her thoughts on life, death, etiquette, courtship, children and weddings, all in a refined style that should not offend the most delicate of sensibilities. Well, not much…

Most of the recipes have been tried out on people who are still alive.

Mrs Ogg gratefully acknowledges the assistance of Mr. Terry Pratchett, Mr. Stephen Briggs, Mlle Tina Hannan and Master Paul Kidby.
Terry Pratchett is Britain’s bestselling living novelist. He lives behind a keyboard in Wiltshire and says he "doesn’t want to get a life, because it feels as though he is trying to lead three already." He was appointed OBE in 1998.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A must for any Pratchett collector I bought this book because I am am trying to collect the entire Discworld collection. I didn't know what to expect when I ordered it but I am glad I did. The beginning is recipes from the Discworld novels adapted for human consumption. Each recipe is submitted by characters to go in the cookbook and comes with a bit of background information about the characters who submitted it. These blurbs are humorous and informative and every once in a while there will also be notes added from Nanny Ogg's editors about censoring material she wanted to include. After the recipes Nanny Ogg has a section in which she explains the rules of etiquette as seen by her. It is broken down into sections by subject matter and is hilarious. A must for Pratchett collectors.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from For the Discworld Completist Nanny Ogg's cookbook is as saucy as she is! I haven't tried any of the recipes (yet!), but if I can scrounge up enough Discheads in Nova Scotia, I may just have to make some of these delights for a themed party. Terry Pratchett is a gem!
