Believe it!
Author/artist Masashi Kishimoto was born in 1974 in rural Okayama Prefecture, Japan. After spending time in art college, he won the Hop Step Award for new manga artists with his manga Karakuri ("Mechanism"). Kishimoto decided to base his next story on traditional Japanese culture. His first version of Naruto, drawn in 1997, was a one-s...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Naruto!! I was just reading the reviews on the Naruto books and you know what, I'm really angry. What does subbing have anything to do with the actual novels themselves?? This is a book website and frankly, you should be reviewing the book,s not the show, both of which in my opinion are excellent. If you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all from now on. Sheesh!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from They can do better... I've seen the Japanese stuff and I think they need better translators... I'm pretty sure they can do better than this if they try...

Rated 3 out of 5 by from i Agree witjh the the first dude ive read the fansub version of naruto and trust me.... compared to that viz has horrible subbing. The dubbing in the anime is the worst ive seen in my life. I think i puked a few times before i realized it was garbage. Sakura sounds more of a man then Naruto.... what is this. Other then that fansubed manga and anime is much better then the garbage offered by other companies........ Yo viz i could do better subbs then u =_=

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I can't believe they insist on selling this ...... VIZ has some of the worst translations i have ever seen. I can't believe people read this junk. Not manga and especially Naruto, but the translated BS. I've followed Naruto since the beginning and am a huge fan but this stuff is just an insult to Kishimoto-sensei's genius. I follow the manga and anime to this day and have read the latest chapter (287) and am amazed that people read the Anglicised crap that VIZ puts out on shelves. Why won't people rise up and tell VIZ to get better translators??? oh i forget that this is read by poseurs and little kids who've never seen/read the Japanese stuff.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing I absolutely LOVE Naruto! It's fast-paced and realistic. The characters all have different personalities and they don't start out perfect. The art is realistic and moving and the characters are just to die for! There's tonnes of action and humor along with hints of romance here and there!
