“Hilarious and charming. The most lovable duo since Frog and Toad.” —NYT-bestselling creator of the Dog Man and Captain Underpants series, Dav Pilkey

Narwhal is a happy-go-lucky narwhal. Jelly is a no-nonsense jellyfish. The two might not have a lot in common, but they do they love waffles, parties and adventures. Join Narwhal and Jelly as they discover the whole wide ocean together.
A wonderfully silly early graphic novel series featuring three stories. In the first, Jelly learns that Narwhal is a really good friend. Then Narwhal and Jelly form their own pod of awesomeness with their ocean friends. And finally, Narwhal and Jelly read the best book ever -- even though it doesn't have any words...or pictures!
Ben Clanton showcases the joys of friendship, the benefits of working together and the power of imagination in the delightful Narwhal: Unicorn of the Sea.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from An Amazing Book From my 8 year old: "Narwhal is super funny and nice. The pod was funny, and the fun facts are really amazing and awesome and interesting. The book in general is amazing, and I can't wait to get the next one, and I hope there are more getting written. And the book doesn't lie: Narwhal is really amazing. I love the book so much. And it's really funny how they don't believe in each other but still they're best friends, and actually it seems like they're both real. Thank you for writing the Narwhal series."

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great book This is an adorable book! I had seen this series around, and I wanted to read it for a long time. Narwhals are unusual creatures because they really look like unicorn whales. They don’t even look real. I laughed out loud a few times while I read this book. Narwhal is learning about who he is while he teaches his friend Jelly the jellyfish. For example, he knows that a group of narwhals is called a pod, so he wants to make his own pod. Instead of finding a bunch of narwhals, he gathers his sea creature friends, such as a shark and an octopus and gives them horns to wear so they look like narwhals too. This part was funny, and educational because it teaches kids about sea creatures. This short book is entertaining for kids and adults.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pick for a Reluctant Reader Honestly, a fun book for all kids but this is one of the books that hooked my 6 year old on reading! The illustrations are adorable and the humour is great (no bathroom humour which is prevalent in many other books for the same age). My son has brought pages over to share with me and giggle. This and the whole series are read and reread in our house and as an adult I enjoyed a read through as well.

There are many positive messages that are depicted to the reader about friendships, imagination and creativity, along with fun facts and a song that adds to the book's charm. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for my grade 1 kid My daughter read it in one sitting and loved it. My daughter loves the story and illustration and it makes her want to read more. (This book is a comic in case parents want to know. So it's all speech bubbles and upper case letters.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great fun story My kids (ages 6 and 8) both really enjoyed this story. The art is simple enough that they were inspired after reading it to make their own narwhal and jellyfish drawings, and had a lot of fun with the characters. Nice gentle story, with some laugh-out-loud moments.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from She Flew Through It! This was the first book that my 7 year old has read from front to back. As soon as she was done she asked if we could buy the next one. She loved the easy to follow story line, and couldn't put it down. I highly recommend it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from CUTE! Incredibly short and cute, Narwhal: Unicorn of the Sea features nonsensical humour that will appeal to fans of Steven Universe and Adventure Time. Much in the vein of those series, Narwhal: Unicorn of the Sea focuses on acceptance and love for those different than you, as well as cute nonsense songs and jokes that honestly shouldn't appeal to anyone over six, yet somehow still do. A great pick-me up read for adults, and great to add to your child's collection.

The incessant charm and unabashed joy should make this an easy sell. Swimmingly delightful and a guaranteed smile-maker.” --Starred Review, Kirkus Reviews “An utterly enchanting start to a series that’s bound to be popular among young readers.” --Starred Review, School Library Journal“Geez, Narwhal and Jellyfish are adorable. There’s no other word as appropriate for this duo… readers will likely clamor for the next outing.” –-Starred Review, Bulletin of the Center for Children’s Books“Bantering dialogue entertains throughout, but the book’s best moment might belong to the third story, when Narwhal lends Jelly his “favourite book in the whole wide water, which is blank...“. "It’s an imagination book, Jelly!” Narwhal explains. Readers ready for underwater goofiness of the non-SpongeBob variety will be eager for more adventures from this duo.” --Publishers Weekly
