about

"I've been single for my entire life. Not one boyfriend. Not one short-term dating situation. Not one person with whom I regularly hung out and kissed on the face."

So begins Katie Heaney's memoir of her years spent looking for love, but never quite finding it. By age 25, equipped with a college degree, a load of friends, and a happy family life, she still has never had a boyfriend...and she's barely even been on a second date.

Throughout this laugh-out-loud funny book, you will meet Katie's loyal group of girlfriends, including flirtatious and outgoing Rylee, the wild child to Katie's shrinking violet, as well as a whole roster of Katie's ill-fated crushes. And you will get to know Katie herself -- a smart, modern heroine relaying truths about everything from the subtleties of a Facebook message exchange to the fact that "Everybody who works in a coffee shop is at least a little bit hot."

Funny, relatable, and inspiring, this is a memoir for anyone who has ever struggled to find love, but has also had a lot of fun in the process.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Okay Was okay and somewhat enjoyable to read. There were many run on sentences and wasn't laugh out loud funny like it seemed like it should be. Had a tiny bit of good insight.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from OKAY, BUT NOTHING SPECIAL Was an okay book to read and had some interesting, relatable experiences/statements. But I got annoyed when she would ramble incessantly about nonsense scenarios.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Hilarious! Ms. Heaney has a real knack for comedic writing. I was laughing out loud throughout this book because a lot of Ms. Heaney's awkwardness is really relate-able.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Meh I was eager to read this book after seeing it mentioned in a few blogs, but was quickly disappointed. I had to fight to finish it (I think I even skipped over some pages). I couldn't even suggest it to a friend - I added the book to my donation pile for goodwill...

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Too Many Run On Sentences. The book was generally interesting, it made you feel for Katie and her friends, but for the way it was written, itcould have been better edites. There was a lot of run on sentences and a lot of nonsense that could have been wrote out. Overall, the book was alright.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Tiresome and somewhat repetitive I didn't care for this novel. It was a long read since there was no character development or setting. It's about an anxious girl, who never bothers to try to be less anxious and complains about always being single while never doing a single thing to avoid it. Would not recommend. Finished the book so I could wholeheartedly dislike the book.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Share this one with all your friends I am having trouble coming up with a girlfriend who I won't be sharing this book with. A very solid four stars. This is like the PG-13 version of a Chelsey Handler book, and there's nothing wrong with that. Only thing keeping it from being a 5 for me is some of the stories early on lasted a bit too long, and Heaney was a bit too annoying. These feelings didn't last long though, and by the time part two started I cold hardly put it down.
