Rated 2 out of 5 by from A huge letdown I read this series as a teenager and reread them recently to see what I thought of them now. Sadly, still bad. The series started good, but around the fourth or fifth book it really started to decline in quality and lost direction. Plot lines went nowhere, characters gained abilities that were entirely pointless (the blind character suddenly knows what colour the object he's touching is, why?), and character development, especially relationship wise, was pretty much nonexistent. This book continues the disappointment, with an especially terrible ending that feels like it was cut up and slapped together just to make a "twist", that really makes you feel like everything that has happened the 8 books was pointless. Not to mention Angel, who I believe to possibly be the most unintentionally unlikable character in any YA novel ever, what a little creep. I only recently heard there was a new "final" book, but it's not worth my time, I suggest just reading the Wikipedia summery. Incoherent and bizarre overall.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great series but over time went down hill. I still enjoyed this story but I definitely think the writer could have taken it more seriously and could have turned it into something pretty special. Got weird over time with how it is.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible End to a Terrible Series The little creepy girl was the girl? After the dozen fake outs? Max and Fang get together despite the crappy way that he treated her? Fake Max is dead (was that this one?) The perfect mate guy was thrown under the bus. The world is gone but somehow they get to survive despite them really not deserving it? Wow. Just wow. Bad Bad Bad.
