Rated 5 out of 5 by from Review for Benjamin Franklin Award When one thinks biography - one thinks they will read about an individual during their life and times. This book doesn't truly fit the category. It is, no doubt, a work of non-fiction and a well done work at that. It is a piece of history that definitely needs to be told and told to many and often about all those amazing individuals who were stripped of their dignity and their humanity and went on to survive and raise families. Amazing people one and all. The writing is excellent, Mr. Neurath. Thank you for an interesting read. I hope you submitted this book in another category...because it deserves recognition, just not in this category as I understand it. Appropriateness for Category... 2017 - Benjamin Franklin Awards™ 04 - Biography — Editorial 1 I rank this book #9 in this category. This book is definitely a collector’s item. The hardcover book is durable, allows the reader to view the pages while lying flat on the table. Hardcover books with color interior are more expensive to make so the price that is currently charged for this book is very reasonable. Testimonials are missing and should be placed in the inside of the book or on the book cover. Credible testimonials give your potential customers a reason to buy. The large book title stands out and can be seen from a distance while the subtitle entices you to read more. The spine as well stands out against a crowd of books on a bookshelf. The description on the back of the book is short but covers the main message points of the book. When I look at the interior layout the reader does not have to read to far into the book the table of contents is very organized to the point that there is no need for an index. The table of contents is organized by successful professionals job category making the search for content easy. The very detailed “Further Reading” section, Acknowledgement page and list of web addresses let us know that lots of research was involved in this book. The copyright page contains all necessary information including the ISBN and Library of Congress. More information could be added to the Copyright page such as a website to learn more about the book and contact information. Readers today want to learn all they can about their favorite authors. The introduction hooks the reader by summarizing what the book is about, its purpose and the author’s goals. The interior is well organized and visually appealing, good use of bullets, graphic photos with explanations and pictures of many of the individuals accomplishments that tie nicely with the chapter content. The author is a very credible source being an immigrant himself who became a successful medical professional. Bravo, having a short bio on the back cover would let readers know that he is a knowledgeable credible source and they can trust the information he is providing. Very effective marketing tactic mentioning the authors other books in graphic format on the back cover. This broadens her name recognition and if they like the book they will seek out other titles from this author. 2/24/2017 5:38 AM 20 / 25 2017 - Benjamin Franklin Awards™ 04 - Biography — Editorial
