The explosive finale of theNew York Timesbestselling Frostblood Saga, perfect for fans ofThree Dark Crowns,Red Queen, andA Court of Thorns and Roses.
Ruby's world has changed more than she ever could have imagined. She's in love with a powerful Frost King. She's the heir to the Fire Throne. And she may be a Nightblood--the spawn of a vengeful deity hellbent on releasing an imprisoned army of shadowy wraiths. Once freed, these beasts will roam the earth, devouring the spirits of every last person until he or she is nothing but an empty husk.
Ruby is able to control the shadows to a degree, even hosting one in her own body. But will this tenuous connection--which threatens to consume her--be enough to hold the beasts back? With time running out, she must bring Frostbloods and Firebloods together to make a stand against an immortal foe more deadly than any she's faced. And the price of peace may be her very life.
In this heart-pounding finale of Elly Blake's gorgeously written and action-packed Frostblood Saga, the fate of Frostbloods, Firebloods, and all of humanity is at stake.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A Fitting Ending I always find the last book in a series is the hardest to talk about. Nightblood, the highly anticipated finale to the Frostblood Saga, definitely had me struggling for words. I have good thoughts and some hesitancies. A huge part of the story is based on the folklore of the world (which I absolutely loved). It plays a bigger role (literally) in Nightblood than any of the other books in the series. The gods were interesting. Very surreal but probably should've been expected given who the key villain was. I also love the truth of the Minax. It made so much sense. Nightblood brings us beautiful closure to Ruby's story. Her character growth has been my favourite part of the book since the very beginning. With every book she pushed her strength further. Her bravery at wielding the unpredictable darkness residing in her and her selflessness proved her worthy of her powers and status. Ruby has come a long way since Frostblood. Arcus's love and loyalty to Ruby was unwavering and unyielding. Asides from being awfully stubborn and totally overprotective, he was the perfect King and lover. They're well-suited in every way, especially in their personality. I can't really put my finger on it but I do feel a little let down with Nightblood. The writing was easy to comprehend but somehow my excitement just never fully took off. I think I was annoyed by the reappearance of the potential love triangle. It felt like page fillers but thankfully didn't last long. The ending was also a tad too tidy... not that I'd have it any other way :P For fantasy lovers the Frostblood Saga is one sure to please. For fantasy beginners it's a great taste of the genre. Either way don't miss out on this easy-to-love trilogy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Romantic Finale I've been waiting for the conclusion to this trilogy for a long time and it was exactly what I hoped it would be! The story was great and filled with action, but its core was the conflict within Ruby and the resulting dramas between her and Arcus/Kai. I felt for Kai for the most part, but I'd hoped he'd gotten the message earlier. As for Ruby and Arcus, well, I've always loved their relationship and romance, and it definitely had some bittersweet moments. Still, as frustrated as I could be with them at times, I never stopped caring about them or rooting for their growth as people, and always ended up smiling at their fun, romantic banter. The ending was really inventive and I enjoyed it a lot, though the final few pages seemed to wrap things up really quickly. Still, any minor gripes I might have did nothing take away the thrilling experience of reading this fantastic series. I'm honestly going to miss all of these characters, Ruby and Arcus in particular. I highly recommend the FROSTBLOOD SAGA to any young adult fantasy lovers, and anyone looking to read a great romance for the end of summer!
