about

These two renowned writers have invented a world not unlike our own--a world on the edge of chaos, torn between the madness of religious fanaticism and the stubborn denial of scientists. Only a handful of people on the planet Lagash are prepared to face the truth--that their six suns are setting all at once for the first time in 2,000 years, signaling the end of civilization!

Reviews

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good book I have liked nearly all of this author's books. Probably one of my favourite 3-4 authors and definitely one that has written so many solid books.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great book! I liked the book because I like science fiction. I have read all of Asimov's foundation novels and most of his robot stories as well. I thought 'Nightfall' a very well written novel and the effect a once in two thousand year eclipse of a sun had on the planet's inhabitants well handled. To show this effect would have made us, the readers wonder how we would have approached it any differently from what the inhabitants of Kalgash have experienced. A very well written novel to make the reader think more about ourselves as part of a much greater universe.
