about

Notes on Jungle Warfare, originally printed in 1942, is a collection of feedback from U.S. Marine Corps Officers and NCO's who were fighting the Japanese on Guadalcanal, including feedback by the famous Colonel L.B. “Chesty” Puller.  The book provides descriptions of Japanese tactics, their effectiveness as well as the U.S. response to them, and suggestions for improving tactics, training and weapons systems.  The book includes photographs, a full appendix on Japanese infantry weapons and an added, postwar study on Japanese Methods of Interrogating Prisoners of War.  An interesting and informative introduction to Jungle Warfare and an important document in the genesis of the modern American Military.
