The first drama in the Oedipus Trilogy, "Oedipus Rex", is the tragic tale of Oedipus who has accidentally killed his father and married his mother. One of the most widely read of all Greek tragedies, "Oedipus Rex", stands as one of not only the greatest dramas from classical antiquity but as one of the greatest dramas of all time. Its influence on literature and theatre cannot be overstated and it is as compelling today as when it was first performed.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from 3.5/5 Read this during my last year of high school. I thought its a good alternative for studying tragedies during English class instead of the usual Shakespeare tragedies. I was very excited to read this at first because it's a Greek play and I find it very interesting. It's also very new and fresh. I thought this book is very simple to understand and very fun to analyze. I would totally recommend this Greek Play. Also Antigone (Or just read the whole Trilogy!)
