Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great cookbook for vegans and non-vegans alike I wasn't a follower of the author's blog so wasn't too familiar with her or the recipes prior to reading this cookbook. The recipes were good and the presentation was lovely to review so I tend to leave the book on display.
Date published: 2017-12-14
Rated 3 out of 5 by from It's OK! I find I use the original Oh She Glows cookbook more than this... however, there are some good recipes especially if you're just getting into vegan cooking.
Date published: 2017-12-12
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Tasting Recipes! I'm not a vegan but I've made a few of the recipes from this book and they were all wonderful... however sometimes the ingredient lists are excessive and might be tough if you don't already have the spices in your pantry
Date published: 2017-12-09
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Good, but I liked the other cookbook better. This one seemed too similar and repetitive. Wanted new ideas.
Date published: 2017-12-04
Rated 5 out of 5 by from amazing recipes! This book is amazing. The recipes are all so delicious and healthy. Honeslty, I'm sad Angela doesn't have more than 2 books, I find it so hard to find more vegan cookbooks of quality this high!!
Date published: 2017-12-03
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it! Another great book for vegans and plant based people. Super comprehensive and easy to follow recipes!
Date published: 2017-12-01
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great vegan recipes If you're into vegan cooking, this is definitely the book for you. If you're new to the vegan lifestyle, this may be a little intense at first, but once you get accustomed to the ingredients, it's honestly fantastic.
Date published: 2017-11-27
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Delicious recipes! Great vegan recipe ideas, however many repeats from the blog.
Date published: 2017-11-24
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Yum The recipes in this book are easy and delicious, but overall I didn't love as many of the recipes as in her first cookbook.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Even better than the first one! Amazing cookbook yet again. Whether you are vegan or not, you will find so much value and inspiration between these pages. I will be going back to this book again and again for recipe ideas!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Use It Daily We've been using this cookbook to meal plan dinners and love it. There hasn't been a recipe we haven't liked. Lots of repeat recipes here. Everything is delicious. #plumreview

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent First Vegan Cookbook! Bought this book based on review on Jillian Harris blog, my 12 year old is a new vegan and loves many of the recipes we've made together, very versatile, easy to follow recipes and very imformative on cooking methods-finally learned how to cook tofu properly
Date published: 2017-11-07
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good option Good option for basic vegan recipes (I am a meat eater but wanted more variety). Nothing too crazy, but I really liked her coverage on basic ingredients that are nice to stock in your kitchen.
Date published: 2017-11-03
Rated 4 out of 5 by from It's okay Some of the recipes were pretty basic, like smoothies and plant milk. Some were interesting but not like WOW. i don't think i'll make half of them. I tried one for macaroons and it didn't work out.
Date published: 2017-10-30
Rated 3 out of 5 by from good not great the blog was great, good to see it in book form but it is a bit repetitive. wouldn't buy it if you've already accessed the blog

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Recipes! This is a great cook book if you are looking to incorporate more plant based meals into your diet. Angela has put together a wonderful collection of recipes that are simple and delicious. There are lots of helpful hints, and a colour photograph of each dish. While I am not vegan, most of my meals are meatless and I find myself pulling inspiration from many of her recipes. Plus, she's a local (Southern Ontario) Canadian author! #plumreview

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fabulous This is my go to cookbook. I am not Vegan but love that recipes tell you exactly what it is. This book makes life simple when family gets together.... so many allergies. Beautiful photographs and easy instructions.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Vegetarian/Vegan Cookbook I'm not a vegetarian or vegan, but bought these books based on some feedback from friends and wanted to get back on track with healthy whole food eating. I have made more of the recipes from this book over the first one, the recipes are easy to follow and diverse. Some things I can do without, like teaching me to make guacamole (come on...). The book is great for newbies as it gives a lot of information on what tools you need, the ingredients and so forth. However, I do find that many of the recipes I have tried require a lot of flavour tweaking - my preference is for bold and spicy flavour profiles. The smoothies I find are quiet filling, and I have been making them for my breakfast for work mornings ahead of time. Most recipes do keep well, so it does make meal planning easy. I don't think my blender has been used this much ever, and usually when I have used it, it's been to make margaritas! I do sub regular ingredients like butter, as I am not vegan and it's an easy substitution. Overall, it's a great staple for your cookbook collection and has given inspiration for tweaking and making the recipes my own and four weeks of eating a predominately vegetarian diet, I've lost that summer bloat from all the over-indulging.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A lot of good recipes that are easy to follow I found a lot of these recipes easy to follow and turned out well. I like it more than her first book.
Date published: 2017-09-21
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Approachable vegan recipes Gorgeous photographs and great recipes, but many are already available online.
Date published: 2017-09-15
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great variety Great selection of quick and more tedious recipies, with a good variety of snacks as well as full meals. Only complaint would be a lack of alternatives for some of the less-common ingredients.
Date published: 2017-09-11
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pretty good! I got this for my birthday and it was really fun to try some of her recipes! The title and the hype around it give the impression that it's a diet book. Although the author seems committed to high quality ingredients there is definitely still lots of sugar (natural and artificial) in these recipes. Overall I really liked it! My favorite is the granola recipe:)
Date published: 2017-09-05
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Legume Lovers Rejoice Appreciate the healthy ideas and recipes in this book. The miss for our household was that it is heavy on legumes. We have a chickpea, lentil allergy and are tired of substituting with beans. More protein subs would be awesome!
Date published: 2017-09-04
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Healthy & Delicious This wonderful book provides a variety of delicious and interesting dishes that I find easy to follow and prepare without spending loads of time in the kitchen! Love it:)
Date published: 2017-08-31
Rated 3 out of 5 by from some great ideas, some lackluster recipes I love a lot of her ideas in this book - her smoothies especially, which I initially didn't even think I'd look at (who needs a recipe for a smoothie?). She's very creative with ingredients and some are very good. That said, there were definitely a few recipes that were so work intensive, or that turned out simply unappetizing. But in all, it's a good cookbook.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lovely book! This was the first cookbook from Angela Liddon that I bought. Really like it! Especially the homemade staples section with basics like coconut whipped cream, bbq sauce, cheese sauce, gravy, mayo etc. Pictures are great too. Just now ordered her first book "Oh she glows" and looking forward to it.
Date published: 2017-08-11
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Recipes! I received this book as a gift and it's pretty fantastic. Each recipe is well organized with an illustration to go with it. A lot of these recipes are available on the Oh She Glows website, but there's something about owning a physical copy of a book that makes this purchase worthwhile.
Date published: 2017-08-07
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Delicious!! All the recipes in the book use fresh. local ingredients that end up making wonderful dishes.

Date published: 2017-07-25
Rated 3 out of 5 by from meh. So other reviewers have already said what I'm basically about to say. I love Angela's first cookbook and her blog. I made almost every recipe out of the first cookbook. This one, however, is just lacking. First let me say I like the smoothie section. I don't usually have the time or desire to "make" something for breakfast so I usually go with smoothies. I also like that she included a way to check the nutrition facts for each recipe. Having said all that, I feel like there's not much available as far as "meals". There's also a lot of tofu this time around and I'm not into that. This may just be a personal thing, but I feel like she could have left off a few of the dessert recipes in order to include more meals. I'm not a huge dessert person so there's a good chunk of the book I won't be using at all. It's not a terrible cookbook by any means, but I just expected a bit more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great cookbook! This book has a ton of great plant-based or vegetarian recipes! I love how there are options to make recipes nut-free or to modify recipes. Everything looks delicious, and what I have tried so far has tasted delicious too! #plumreview

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Helpful and Tasty Eating plant based can be super easy, but it is nice to have some help at first if transitioning from another diet / style of eating. The recipes (I've made around 50% of them by now) are good, concise, and I don't find I make many alterations to them. Her blog is also very helpful and may be a better place to start if you don't want to pay for the book. Also, a fun one to share amongst friends no matter their dietary needs!
Date published: 2017-04-25
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic! This cookbook is great! So many great recipes for vegans & omnivores alike!
Date published: 2017-04-24
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Ok cookbook I borrowed this cookbook from my sister in law, trying to find more vegan recipes to add to my meal routines and I was quickly disappointed. The title says ''quick and simple satisfying plant-based recipes'' and I would expect something more elaborated than a ''Fresh cherry tomato salsa'', ''9 spice avocado hummus toast'' and ''marinated italian tofu'' - I mean, I can figure as much. I give it two stars as the homemade staples section is very useful as one starting out with vegan recipes might not know you can use coconut for a whipped cream substitution for example and there's very clear information about cooking and storing various grains.
Date published: 2017-04-24
Rated 3 out of 5 by from not my fav agree with some other reviews that the recipes were lacking. A lot of dressings/sauces/condiments, not enough unique entree ideas . but still good, just not my fav #plumreview
Date published: 2017-04-22
Rated 2 out of 5 by from vegheads will like this Stupid. Just eat veggies like the Japanese do. You don't need the Westernized way.

Date published: 2017-04-11
Rated 3 out of 5 by from GOOD Gift! I received this as a gift - I thought it was a GOOD gift, but not a great one. I would agree with some of the other reviews that mention the recipes aren't that great. The aesthetic of the photos in the cookbook itself are absolutely stunning though!
Date published: 2017-04-11
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Home Run! Love the recipes in her latest! You do not need to be vegan to occasionally eat vegan and enjoy it! Love her work.
Date published: 2017-04-10
Rated 4 out of 5 by from good! still love the first book best!!
Date published: 2017-04-09
Rated 4 out of 5 by from You don't have to be vegan to love these recipes! I enjoyed this book more than the first. I found that I usually had the ingredients in my fridge/pantry and didn't have to make a special trip to the store to try a recipe. Angela's recipes are easy to follow and the tips are very helpful. I have tried many recipes from the book and would recommend it to anyone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy and I am not vegan, not even vegetarian, but I do enjoy discovering the different recipes in this book. They are are easy and use accessible ingredients, I am definitely happy with my purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ABSOULTELY LOVE I was hesitant to get this book after reading some of the reviews with comparison of her first book. I LOVE this book even more than the first one. So glad I decided to get it and Ive shared this with so many other who love it. I use it on a weekly basis and never disappointed!

Date published: 2017-03-26
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Just as Good I feel as though there are enough new recipes in this book to justify buying it. Given some of the negative reviews I was not expecting it to be that great. I think perhaps people were blown away by the first cookbook that their expectations were too high. I still feel like it is one of top 5 vegan cookbooks out there in terms of taste, creativity and variety of the recipes. Also unlike many vegan cookbooks it is not all about tofu and seitan!
Date published: 2017-03-25
Rated 2 out of 5 by from not her best I was expecting more ideas and receipies. Most of these receipes you've seen before
Date published: 2017-03-20
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Recipes feel familiar This book is in keeping with the style of the first book and the blog, pleasant, tasty, easy to do . For some reason I quite preferred her first book; there just didn't seem to be as much new here that I hadn't seen from her. The upside is that you get great photos of all the recipes., I think nicer than the first book . I don't feel that I would buy this again; I didn't own the first one it would be a toss up between recipes and ideas vs better photos .
Date published: 2017-03-20

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful! I've had this book for awhile now and every time I make a recipe from it, I'm so glad I did! Angela provides delicious recipes and beautiful photography. Highly recommend.
Date published: 2017-03-09
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointing You're better off going to the blog instead of the cookbook. Not many new recipes and the recipes lack flavour.
Date published: 2017-03-07
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful Photography + Recipes! This book is like a more beautiful version of the first cookbook. There are a lot of recipes that she seems to have refined/edited/improved for this cookbook. The photography is beautiful (a big improvement from the first book). If you don't already own the first one, then I suggest buying this one over the other. Both cookbooks are amazing and have a ton of great vegan recipes, but you don't really need both.
Date published: 2017-03-07
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Great book I use it on a weekly basis
Date published: 2017-03-06
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Pass Disappointingly repetitive and little evidence to back up claims.
Date published: 2017-03-06
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Still working through it... I've gone through this cookbook, and as I already own OSG1, I did find a lot of the recipes very similar or (in my opinion) repeats of what we've already seen. But what I found troubling about OSG2 compared to OSG1 is that there are many more ingredients that I've had trouble finding. I myself an not a vegan, but a vegetarian, so I haven't had to branch out too far to get ingredients I require. So in the end, I would say that OSG1 is a great cookbook for those beginning to start a vegan lifestyle, and OSG2 is a great cookbook for those who are already leading this lifestyle and looking to expand their knowledge and basis of cooking.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing! (and Canadian!) This is my favourite cookbook of all time! and I'm not even vegan, which proves how delicious these recipes really are. The avocado pasta, the oatmeal recipes and the desert recipes are to die for! Simple, easy and they aren't made with weird ingredients, most of the ingredients you will have on hand for sure. A great book for anyone who is vegan, vegetarian or a curious foodie.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from She Glows Again Another great cookbook by one of my favorite food bloggers. Every recipe has a photo so you know what the final dish should look like and every recipe also indicates whether it is soy free, egg free, gluten free, etc.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from it ok, if you need food photography inspiration. A little Disappointed. There very few new recipes. A lot of recipes we've seen floating around the web. I was hoping for more entrees but instead, this book is heavy on the smoothies, sweets, and basics: AKA non-recipes like almond butter from just almonds, coconut butter from just coconut; I would have appreciated more real recipes. I found the first book is much a lot better for recipes, however, this book it's the photos that improved

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice and simple! If you're looking for easy but delicious ways to eat healthy, then this is an excellent book. It is simple, has a good variety to choose from and everything tastes great. I like that all of the recipes come with pictures - definitely way more enticing to actually try something when you can see what it looks like. More of a book for beginners to moderate knowledge I would say in this type of lifestyle, as it is more of a recipes basics book.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I'm in love! I do not have her first book so I can't compare or comment on duplicate recipes. I absolutely love this book though. I bought a whole stack of healthy cookbooks for the new year as a treat to myself and I keep going back to this one. I am not vegetarian but I love her flavorful, healthy, quick and easy recipes. It has certainly inspired me to get back in the kitchen and have some fun!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Wonderful and Easy Recipes This book is fantastic for anyone wanting to delve into the vegan world. The cheese sauce is hands down the best I've ever made. The recipes are so yummy even the vegan skeptic will be fooled. Gave it four stars because if you are a accomplished cook some of the recipes will seem to obvious and dull.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great book I was shocked to see bad reviews considering everyone loved the first book. I bought the Oh She Glows cookbook in the summer. Shortly after buying it, I decided to become vegetarian, and shortly after that, I decided it really isn't that hard to eat a plant based diet, and decided to go vegan. Both cook books are great! There are so many healthy recipes that taste great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of my all time favourites! I love Angela Liddon’s cookbooks for a few simple reasons: absolutely delicious recipes, ingredients that are not obscure or hard to come by, beautiful photos to accompany every single recipe, and brief but personal stories throughout.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great cookbook for everyone! Great recipes and photos throughout! Not a vegan and love all the recipes she has come out with! A staple in my kitchen.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loved it Loved that she included the prep time for each recipe at the top, and also, if you need to do any "overnight prep" beforehand. Loved that the recipes were a lot more simple and quick, easy to prepare. More family friendly. Love the sea salted chocolate hemp smoothie!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing! Reading the reviews, many people don't like this book because many recipes are similar to the ones in the first. However, thats exactly why I like it. It revamps recipes that I was eating too much, making them new for my palate again. Angela never disappoints!
Date published: 2017-01-19
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Oh She Glows is out of ideas Many of the recipes are rehashes of the recipes in her first cookbook. If you have her first book, you don't need this one.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Disappointed This second book is not anywhere as good as the first (oh she glows). There are far too many pages of 'filler'recipes and quite a few rehashes of recipes from the first book. There are also WAY too many photos of Angela (she obviously has a very high opinion of herself!). All in all I'm sorry I purchased this book.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good inspiration! My mother in law gifted this book to me because i had mentioned that I was running out of inspiration in the kitchen. All of the recipes are very well thought out, and it is a good introduction to Plant-Based eating. If you prefer a cookbook to pinterest and google this is a great place to start. Although it is a Vegam/Plant based cookbook, I think it would be good for anyone who is trying to add more vegetables to their diet or are interested in a healthier lifestyle. I love how all of the measurements are in dual-conversion so that you don't need to be converting online. Another nice touch is all of the mindful substitutions for different dietary needs. Angela Liddon has really put a lot of thought into making it easy on her readers in this wonderful follow-up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing! The first one was so good, the blog is too, so my expectations were high and they were met. Like everything Angels does, this is amazing. Simple, delicious, most of the time healthy vegan recipes. I usually put a post-it on the pages of the recipes I want to try, the whole book was cover in post-it!! I try a dozen now and everything was so goooood! My favourite is the sweet potato and chickpeas curry.
