There are two basic mindsets, one toward growth, and the other toward stagnation. It is not a difficult read, and is easily applicable. It is a little repetitive, but it serves to reinforce the ideas. A helpful book overall, but perhaps a little simplistic, and may not be applicable to all people or situations.

It is helpful to understand the importance and the impact of mindsets in various different aspects of one's life. However, this book is not written in a captivating way. In fact, it reflects the depth of the content being discussed. Thre are some instances when you will want/need coffee to stay awake to get through all of the chapters.

Not a lot of motivational stuff - just solid advice on how to train well and the science behind why it should work. I look forward to some new Personal Records this summer!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Don't be fooled by age Nearing 50 and after 17 years of not cycling I picked up this book. I have always been a cycling fanatic and follow the sport but due to circumstances I put cycling as part of my life aside for years and found the spark back at 47. This book touches science on aging as well as proper training, rest, and recovery for those of us nearing 50 or past 50 but don't be fooled by age; we can still bike and yes race. This book was such an inspiration to me that in 2016 I built my own customized carbon fiber racing bike.
