Reviews

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A unique little book This book has a nice story! The pictures are very nice. I bought this book for my grandson who was expecting a brother or sister. I like how the story shows mom holding both her children in her arms in the rocking chair, telling the oldest one that there is room for two!

From Our Editors

Scott's well-loved story sensitively captures the cozy warmth of a universal childhood experience, portrayed in an Eskimo setting. Michael loves cuddling in the rocking chair with his mother and his favorite toys. When his baby sister wants to join in, Michael learns that there's enough room--on Mother's lap and in her heart--for all. Full color

Editorial Reviews

Sitting on his mother's lap, a young Eskimo boy cheerfully gathers his belongings until he, some toys, his puppy, and a blanket are all crowded together in the rocking chair. When his baby sister cries, the boy claims there is no room for her, but Mother proves him wrong, and the threesome settle comfortably in the chair. Soft illustrations depict a cozy scene and a loving family." - Copyright A® 1992 The Horn Book, Inc. All rights reserved.Horn Book"An update of the 1972 collaboration.
