about

Talk about a bad-hair day!

Sophie Garou is a master at taming her inner beast, which comes in handy since she’s a werewolf. With a big promotion at work and a supersexy boyfriend, Heath (whom she recently spotted leaving a jewelry store with a beguiling ring box), she’s one happy girl.

But when Heath starts spending long nights at the office with his new associate–a dead-ringer for Career Day Barbie–Sophie smells trouble. And when her professional relationship with her big new client–who also happens to be Texas’s brilliantly blue-eyed most eligible bachelor–begins to sizzle, she wonders if her animal instincts are leading her in the wrong direction. Just when it seems that things can’t get any more complicated, they do. The Houston werewolf pack has sniffed Sophie out, and their message is chillingly clear: you’re either with us or against us. And unless she can prove that she’s with them, the next full moon may just be her last.
Critically acclaimed writer Karen MacInerney is the author of Howling at the Moon and the Gray Whale Inn mysteries Dead and Berried and Murder on the Rocks, which was selected as an Agatha nominee for Best First Novel. Rated 3 out of 5 by from Sophie....what are you going to do? Sophie is a werewolf who just can't accpet herself. She would prefer to be anything but. Since Sophie is been "hidden" from the rest werewolves for most of her life she is in for big changes when the local pack find out she is in their terrirtory. Sophie has a choice become part of the pack, be killed or option number three which might get her killed anyway. This is the second in the series and it is getting better. Sophie has a boyfriend, and desire for both her best friends werewolf boyfriend and her best client. I had a really hard time with Sophie not have an affair on her boyfriend, even though they were having problems. Mark whom she has the affair with gives her a ring that does not come off? This should make anyone wonder.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Could be better I was kind of disappointed in this book, first thing I have to say is, why did Sophie have to cheat on her boyfriend / possible fiancé, if she doesn’t want to be with Heath any more she should just break up with him. She wants in the worst way to be human, but why can’t she just accept what she is? And now she has three men waiting for her to accept them. She’s lying to her actual boyfriend, Heath about every thing, than there’s Mark, who’s sort of shady and creepy, she actually cheated on her boyfriend with him, and lastly Tom, whom I think she really wants to be with and has had a few intense make out sessions with, but oh ya she’s got a conscience now ‘cause he’s kind of with her best friend. I liked how there are some fairly comical scenes, the characters are all interesting and there were a few good surprises but in the end I don’t have any clue as to where this series is going, but what I do know is that if there isn’t a few changes in the next novel I’m done with this series.
