about

A manga series that packs quite the punch!

Nothing about Saitama passes the eyeball test when it comes to superheroes, from his lifeless expression to his bald head to his unimpressive physique.  However, this average-looking guy has a not-so-average problem - he just can't seem to find an opponent strong enough to take on!  He's easily taken out a number of monsters, including a crabby creature, a malicious mosquito girl and a muscly meathead.  But his humdrum life takes a drastic turn when he meets Genos - a cyborg who wants to uncover the secret behind his strength!
Manga creator ONE began One-Punch Man as a webcomic, which quickly went viral, garnering over 10 million hits. In addition to One-Punch Man, ONE writes and draws the series Mob Psycho 100 and Makai no Ossan.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than the first Just finished volume 2 and damn. I have to get my hands on volume 3. Spoiler, you get to see a few Easter eggs that you do not see in the anime. Also, if you watched the anime and want to start reading the manga. GO FOR IT! You will not be disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Introducing Genos! Saitama's life alternates between the adventurous and super mundane, and continues in this volume that sees a new character join the fray. Hilarious and masterfully drawn, One-Punch Man is good parody of superhero stories while still being a good superhero story in and of itself.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Shonen Parody This makes fun of teenage anime and manga through and through and it does it it well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from the story continues The eye-catching cover art, coupled with the cute back cover design should be more than enough to draw in people who have bought the first volume of the series. Saitama and Genos' story continues in this volume, we get more in detail with the plot and character than the first volume.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Stronger punches delivered Volume 2 is much stronger than the first since it finally delves more into the One-Punch Man backstory, develops the character, and moves the plot further along. That said, I'm still unsure as to where this story can and will go, with the sound worry that anything and everything under the sun will be employed to explain the plot at random. Also, one of the manga's defining point is that Saitama, our One-Punch Man, is literally a hero who obliterates his opponents with only one punch. Whether this gimmick will pay out in the long run is still to be determined, but there's a definite sense that the current battles with villains and monsters are being drawn out and that one punch is delayed for as long as possible. This awareness, I think, is why I'm having a hard time letting the story knock me out completely - I'm waiting for that punch just as much as its being held back.
