Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Series All I can say about Opal.. ugh Blake... Such a great story...this one was action packed and I enjoyed it so much!! My fiancee laughs because he kept asking if there was alien sex.. and at that point there wasn't.. but then it happened !! AHHH !! Steamy! I love Jennifer's writing.. it's quippy, unique, flowing and beautiful. This is my 4th book written by Jennifer and she just absolutely amazing.. she knows just how much to give away and how to get you hooked. Katy is a wonderful character.. she is likable, relatable, funny and I love the banter between her and Daemon. He is a wonderful character too.. full of sass, a sense of humor and a romantic side! I cannot wait to find out what happens in Origins! One of my favourite series read to date!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Wow This was yet another good book from Jennifer. It fit perfectly into the storyline of the lux series and wasn't too boring to read. It was nice to have some Kat and Daemon moments and I enjoyed seeing other sides to characters like Dee, Ash, and Matthew. I would highly suggest reading this, especially if you're really into the Lux series.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from good! So, I just finished reading the Lux Series by Jennifer L. Armentrout, over the span of a week, might I add. The series is about a teenage girl named Katy Swartz who just moved to West Virginia with her mother to a very small town. At first, like any other kid, she’s pretty upset about leaving her entire world behind. She’s an only child living with her mom (her dad passed away from cancer). She sucks it up because she knows her mother needs to move on. Now Katy doesn’t know anyone here but her neighbourhood (of literally 10 people) seems just fine, normal..though what she doesn’t know is she lives beside some weird, supernatural teenagers…. **may contain spoilers** So eventually, Katy meets her next door neighbours, Dee and Daemon Black, twins. Dee is a young girl Katy’s age who is described as being pretty and one of the nicest kids in town. The two girls instantly click and become super close friends. Daemon on the other hand, is a completely different story. He’s stubborn, egotistic, guarded and just flat out annoying. Oh but there’s one characteristic Katy immediately noticies from this boy. He’s beautiful. Daemon has piercing green eyes, a hot bod and is quite charismatic he wants to be. Now, I don’t want to ruin the entire series for you, so I’m going to stop there. Anyway, one thing I will tell you is that Dee and Daemon are definitely not normal people, as Katy first assumed. There’s a reason why other students in the school refer to their ‘clique’ as weird, even referring to these kids as ’them.’ Dee, Daemon and others, like Ash, Matthew, Adam and Andrew are all Luxen. Luxen (means light in latin) are creatures literally from another planet who are made of light – basically aliens. They have special powers that allow them to shoot light out of them, run super fast, never get sick, move things around with their minds and even disappear. They are enemies of the Aurm. Arum (means darkness in latin) have the same powers as the Luxen, though they have one main weakness – they can be destroyed by a special stone called obsedian. Hit an arum with one of those, and poof, they’re dead. As morbid as that sounds, it’s only for protection. Their entire existence surrounds killing Luxen, the good guys, so they have to do something. Okay, so now that you know the basic story of the series, I’m not going to reveal anything else. I wouldn’t want to spoil the whole story! If that hasn’t convinced you to read the series, I don’t know what else to say other than it’s also pretty romantic and who doesn’t love that. What I Loved: I absolutely loved the characters in this book, but especially Katy, Dee and Daemon. They change so much over the course of the series that if you read the first book and I told you how they were at the end of the third, you wouldn’t even believe me. It’s really cool to see their relationships with each other grow as they continue to learn more about each other. Katy gets more and more involved in the whole Luxen vs. Arum drama as you find out about an entire new species. What Could Be Changed: Honestly, the only thing that I would have changed about this series so far (there’s more books coming out) is that I wish the books were longer! They’re not slow at all and it makes the story happen so fast that you just want to keep on reading and reading. Can’t wait until August! Okay, so that’s all for this series so far, but as soon as the fourth book comes out, I’ll review that too! I give the first three books of the Lux Series four stars and recommend it to anyone looking for something totally different.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So addicting!!!!!! Once again Armentrout deals out a stunningly beautiful sequel in this series. This book literally took up my life from the moment I bought it! Between the suspense, the out of this world plot twists, the intense review of human morality, and the heart stopping romance between Daemon and Katy I was thoroughly wrapped around this book's finger. No shame. I am going to be banging my head until I get to the next book.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I Need More!! Yet another great book to an awesome series!I am still in shock. Opal was addicting, and I couldn't put any words after reading the end of the book. Jennifer L. Armentrout's is amazing! From the very beginning it was a fantastic read which will keep you on your toes. I am a big fan of Jen's from day one and to after waiting to read this book, it was worth the wait, and it was the best book EVER. Jennifer's books are an addiction, once you start the first book, Obsidian, you will fall in love with the rest of the series!! In this third installment of the Lux series, we left off where Onyx ended. Dee is still mourning the loss of Adam (sad face) who is heartbroken and this then severs the relationship between her and Katy. Katy and Daemon's relationship is more intensified. Daemon would do anything for Katy including being in a real relationship. Opal really was my favorite in the series. The plot will surprise you, and Jen will definitely throw you for a loop with her crazy cliffhangers. But as my anticipation for the next book (already read) this series is a must read for all since we get to know more about the evils and more about Daemon! I did feel like crying through most of the book since Daemon really knows how to swoon a girl even through reading. I loved every scene and romantic parts that I was almost about to throw this book because of that ending with me shocked. I need more!! Be sure to check out my other reviews of Obsidian and Onyx and soon Origin (September 3)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely awesome! Oh Daemon, Daemon, Daemon. And now Dawson! I can’t get over it. Even when they are fighting you can’t help but still swoon and fall for him. His cocky persona, his loving touches, and his all around jerkiness makes me wish that Daemon was real, because he really is one of a kind. So many things happen between Daemon and Katy in this novel and all they try to do is find a small amount of normalcy in their lives. Even going on a date and learning more about each other outside of the alien world is a very hard thing in their lives. This novel took me on a whirl-wind ride and I don’t even know how much of a review I can post without potentially revealing something. I will tell you that in this novel I find myself falling in love with Daemon all over again, just like in the first. I also felt for Katy…her life is a mess and there isn’t much she can do about it. And then there is the ending…I will tell you that it is a Cliffhanger, and that it changes the future of the series. Everything will be different and I cannot wait to find out all about it! Good: Katy—still a feisty book loving girl. Daemon—He’s Daemon as always Dawson—A new add to the mix. He brings something fresh and reminds me of Daemon Bad: Nothing that I can think of. Overall (Writing style, story line, and general): Overall, this book was another fantastic add to the series. I was captivated, drooling, sometimes frustrated and I simply want more, more, more. The humour was a plenty and the book was easy to follow. He story line in this book was pretty straight forward however there are some events that change the tone of the book making it far more serious than the previous novels. There weren’t many major twists until the end…that is when something really really big happens. It’s…crazy good. As per usual Jennifer L. Armentrout sucks you into her mischievous alien world probably with a large Cheshire cat smile on her face because, guess what?...She has you waiting impatiently for the next one and drooling over Daemon in your sleep. Let’s remember to bow down to her for her extraordinary writing technique and mad story-telling skills. What it would be like to spend a day in her imagination.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Opal Once I got my greedy little hands on my Kindle edition of Opal I dived right back into the Luxen world. And boy was I not disappointed. With Opal I've fallen that much more in love with the characters and world Jennifer has created. I will admit that Opal is a slower paced novel compared to the previous 2 novels in the series, but don't let that dissuade you from grabbing a copy. Trust me if you are all for lots of steamy romance and a surprisingly ever changing element to the plot, Opal will serve it in spades. I devoured Opal in one day because I just couldn't put it down. I have read a few reviews saying that Opal is missing something and that is true. With the problems Katy is facing things are not the same as they were in Onyx. That friendship between her and Dee has taken a hard hit, and I really think that that is what people are missing. In all honesty the characters have grown and so has the direction of the story. We are seeing a more mature couple in Katy and Daemon, they are no longer the love/hate couple they used to be. So to all readers expect big changes because this is not the same characters way back in Obsidian. Katy, now here's my girl. I really enjoyed seeing the more mature and thoughtful Katy. Sure there are still some pieces of the old Katy in there, the parts that made us love her to begin with. But in Opal Katy is no longer an outsider to the Luxen gang, she's one of them. Finally we get to see Katy step up and take her place beside Daemon instead of the damsel in distress. I loved that she is trying to protect those she loves even though it is tearing her apart on the inside. Katy is seeing a darker side of herself and she is afraid, but that doesn't stop her from giving it her all. Sure she's scared and is afraid that any of her choices could lead to people getting hurt, but she pushes forward and keeps calm in the eye of the storm. OMG the swoonage between Katy and Daemon is just plain smoken! If my kindle could catch fire it would of. One thing to expect in Opal is that same witty sexy banter between this earth shattering pair. Daemon, OMG *swoons*. I have to say that Daemon has a forever fangirl in me! Not the stalker kind...okay maybe...just a little. In Opal we get to see a different protective side of Daemon, it's not the take Katy and throw her over his shoulder and take her back to the cave type. Daemon though he might not like it lets Katy make her own decisions even while entering dangerous situations. They are finally seeing eye to eye. I loved that he gave her the breathing room to be herself and didn't try to take over. There was a ton of growth between Katy and Daemon. Instead of the push/pull relationship we see some compromising. Katy stats the difference herself, with thinking on how they are like her parents. This is exactly what she wanted and needs between her and Daemon. I didn't think I could love Daemon more and once again Jennifer has managed to shove him into my heart permanently. Opal will capture your heart and leave you begging for more. I loved the new development, especially the one at the end. I knew a lot of people were shocked with it, but I can honestly say I have been waiting for this to happen since Obsidian. So truthfully I knew it would come, just a matter of when. I will definitely be waiting impatiently for Obsession to come out in March and Origin next summer. Overall Opal was a passion filled, more mature novel compared to the previous novels. It will leave you with a cliffhanger that will have you climbing the walls until the next installment is out. So what I am saying is, if you have not joined this Luxen gang, why not?
