This captivating guidebook combines two enchanting traditions — the Japanese art of ikebana, or flower arrangement, and origami, the ancient Japanese practice of paperfolding. Easy-to-follow instructions and an abundance of illustrations enable beginning and expert paperfolders to create even the stems, leaves, and vases for an enchanting array of blossoms.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not for Beginners or visual learners If you are used to visual patterns, stay away from this book. You HAVE to read the description and in some patterns, figure out how he did it because he doesn't show or explain it. One thing that is good about this book is that it shows you how to make the pentagon, octogon and other shapes from square paper without having to get a graphic generated on your computer; with this book, you need to fold the paper and cut. The flowers are more angular than the more "modern" ones, so this is a good book if you have others, but not one to start with.
