The book shares memories and beautiful photos from her home and performances in the Canadian Christmas event the Edmonton Singing Christmas Tree. She was beautiful and real and funny. She challenged us to live the best life we can in the face of tragedy, in the face of despair. Not by telling us to, but by leading by example.Carrie Doll, CTVOrnament is a response to the many people who have asked, How could I have a faith like Kristens? Each chapter features an ornament from the Fersovitch family Christmas tree and an insight into Kristens relationship with God, which was characterized by faith in the face of adversity, joy in spite of circumstances, and hope that was rock solid. There is a practical application at the end of each chapter to help you grow in your own faith.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Shooting Star Bob tells Kristen's inspirational story by linking them to ornaments on a Christmas tree. With the help of others, he is able to highlight Kristen's faith in the Lord and her contagious positivity. Kristen was truly a star, more specifically a shooting star because she burned so brightly for only a short period of time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hope in the Midst of Struggles Great book for those who are going through difficult times (and who doesn't at some point in life).  Kristen seems to have come from a very loving family of faith, which I believe helped to develop her strong character at an early age.  I think this helped her when she became sick, although only the Lord could give her the joy and peace she felt in her illness.  It's amazing how when people couple up with God how effective they can be in another's life.   I appreciated her realness in her struggle to come to grips with her eventual death - her fears and frustrations and having to let go.  And, in the end, His presence is really all that mattered.  Bob did a great job in putting this book together and I am sure it will touch those who read it and hopefully bring them closer to the One who loves them greater than any other.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A U-turn in a world filled with Despair This book is a wonderful gift of hope to any who would take the time to read it. The graphic excellence and intimate details create a connection portrayed through the challenging personal journey and photographs. The Ornament beautifully challenges the assumption that life has to be perfect to find joy; that circumstance have to work out in our favour to maintain our faith. It breaks the bonds of despair by showing who is able to bring real HOPE! If you need help finding that kind of hope; a redemption not yet visible-you need this book!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A beautiful story of Gods presence in all things This story is so special as God has been given recognition in every chapter. So neat how the questions asked at the end of each chapter relate to the reader. It is a reminder that our walk with our Maker and Savior is a daily journey, and reminds us that God is in the little things around us and yet He is the maker of all things. Love the ending of how even through all this, we can go on with assurance with the strength God gives us.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Inspirational I knew this beautiful lady and her family personally. Their unwavering belief and trust in God was an inspiration beyond comprehension. To be so young with three babies, given a death sentence and still maintain such a positive attitude and her unwaivering faith in God is beyond inspirational. If you are facing any kind of hardship in your life - I would STRONGLY recommend this book and it will truly help you find your faith and strength in the face of adversity.
