An exciting new character-based mini series for young readers.Introducing Miss Ottoline Brown, an exceptionally inquisitive Mistress of Disguise, and her partner in crime, Mr Munroe. No puzzle is ever too tricky for the two of them to solve . . . Ottoline lives in a stylish apartment in Big City with a small hairy creature called Mr Munroe. Together they look after the Brown family's eclectic collections - and dabble in a spot of detective work. So they are the first to the scene of the crime when a string of high society dog-nappings and jewel thefts hits Big City. Ottoline (who luckily has a diploma from the Who-R-U Academy of Disguise) and Mr Munroe go undercover - and expose an ingenious scam masterminded by furry feline crook, the Yellow Cat. A quirky mystery-adventure which is perfectly packaged and highly collectable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Those drawings! The 2 Ottoline books have become my 6 year-old's favorite. She loves all the references to objects found in drawings throughout the book, I love the details of the drawings. Mr. Munroe is a wonderful character, as is Ottoline. Next Halloween, it looks like she wants to go as Ottoline and I get to go as, you guessed it, Mr. Munroe!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for emergent readers My 7 year old daughter LOVED this book. She thought it was hilarious. The combination of clever drawings and text was ideal for her. Some of the words were difficult, but that is how she improves her reading skills. She is anxious to read the new book when it comes out and I am anxious to keep her loving books.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Wasn't Bad Ottoline and the Yellow Cat is a story about how a young girl named Ottoline, along with her pet Mr. Monroe embark on a mission to solve the enigma behind a string of mysterious burglaries in their neighborhood. Although the story has gorgeous illustrations and a clever plot, I wasn't particularly pleased with the book, overall. The plot was a bit juvenile and the style just wasn't right. Had I been about 5-8 years younger, I probably would have given this book a higher rating. But as it is, Ottoline and the Yellow Cat can only merit 2 out of 5 stars when judged as a teen story. It's geared more towards children, rather than teens and tweens.
