Paul is a Montreal teenager who, against the backdrop of Quebec in the 1970s, quits school, works in a factory and eventually takes a job as a counsellor at a summer camp. He soon finds himself guiding a motley band of kids-misfits, loners and troublemakers-through the rough terrain of growing up."Rabagliati lovingly develops these snapshots of childhood memories and a bygone era using comic strip panels as if they were Polaroid."-PRINT magazine
Michel Rabagliati's illustrations have appeared in several publications, such as the Wall Street Journal, Atlantic Monthly, Utne Reader, Reader's Digest, National Post, Canadian Business, Maclean's and Canadian Living. He lives in Montreal.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What a Beautiful Gentle Story This graphic novel tells the story of Paul's summer job at a sleep away camp in Quebec. It it truthfully told and gentle. There are no easy answers in this book, but there is hope in abundance. For reasons which are completely opaque to me, this GN has been banned by some school boards. There is nothing even vaguely racy or violent in this novel. Paul learns to overcome a fear and is able to use his new found courage to help a camper become a stronger person. The book is simply illustrated yet rich in emotional resonance. i would highly recommend this book to anyone, male or female over the age of 14
