Barbara Reid delivers her most perfect story yet!

A perfect snow has fallen, and first-grader Scott and fourth-grader Jim have been daydreaming the morning away, making plans, doodling sketches of snowmen and snow forts, all in anticipation of recess and the endless possiblities of this perfect snow.

Barbara Reid uses her signature Plasticine style and blends it for the first time with ink wash panels to create a unique mixed media masterpiece. Drawing inspiration from the schoolyard of her own Toronto childhood and the ones she visits today, she manages to create authentic images to which readers of all ages will relate.

Perfect Snow is a timeless Canadian tale that will beautifully enhance any snowy day!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredible Winter is my favorite season, and snow is one of my favorite things in the world - even if it means hours of shoveling each day. In this book Barbara Reid captures a child’s wonder and fascination with the first snow fall and all that can be done with snow. Snow forts, snow balls, and snowmen are part and parcel of childhood in Canada, and Reid captures that wonderfully. This book is also a departure for her in that it includes some sketches and comic-style framed story to supplement her world- famous plasticine art. Her work with plasticine often looks like it is photographs. This book with the predominance of white for the snow is a masterpiece of art. This is another fabulous book by a Canadian author and illustrator and a prime example of why she has won almost every Children’s Book award.
