The summer of 1956 starts out like any other summer for 15-year-old Henry Pederson: hot, long and boring. That all changes when Jenny Sarsky, along with her Guardian Angel and her family move into the house three doors down. From the moment their eyes meet, an earthly attraction unites their hearts while the spiritual energy traveling the length of the gaze they share joins their souls spinning a web of love that transcends time and Heaven itself. Mr. Engelmann, an endearing and wise mentor living out the word of God, comes into Henry's life, providing him with powerful insights and valuable life lessons that carry strength, wisdom and hope, making this story both a heart-wrenching romance and an uplifting journey of spiritual discovery. Characters so real that their sadness, tears and joys fly off the pages and become ever-entrenched in the mind and heart of the reader. Pewter Angels, the first book of "The Angelic Letters" series, starts Henry and Jenny and their families on an inspiring yet tumultuous journey through life's struggles and victories, and the miracle of deep, enduring love. Their 50-year spiritual odyssey becomes an experience long remembered; a hard-to-put-down story spanning five novels with an ending that surprises and satisfies beyond the reader's most wishful imaginings. A Canadian Bestseller, Pewter Angels will grab your heart, squeeze it and hold it to the very last page.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely Wonderful! While shopping at Costco during the 2014 Christmas season, I came across Henry Ripplinger at a table, doing a book signing for his “Angelic Letters” series. A woman was speaking with Henry and I overheard her comment that she couldn’t wait for his 6th book to come out and how much she had enjoyed reading the series. My husband purchased the series for me as a Christmas gift and I was pleased that Henry autographed each book for me. It was several months after Christmas when I finally picked up the first book in the series and began to read. At first, I was a little doubtful that I could get into the book but as I turned each page, I became more involved in the lives of each character and the story line as it was enfolding. It didn’t take many more pages and I was hooked! I could hardly put the book down, wanting to know what would happen next in the lives of Henry, Jenny & Mr. Engelmann. In a few short months, I had read the entire 5 book series and am waiting anxiously for the 6th book to be completed and released! I was impressed with Mr. Ripplinger’s ability to instill and encourage all his readers to aim for a life of high morals, values and integrity. I appreciate the openness with which he writes about spiritual matters and our own guardian angels that we each have watching over us. Thank you for sharing your God-given talent with your readers Henry and I hope to have my nose in Book 6 soon! Heather B.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A Cute Little Story... I'm really on the fence about this one. It's a cute story and everything, but it lacks real substance. I love the fact that the it's set in Canada, and I enjoyed most of the characters, but it's a little too preachy even for a Christian romance. And I'm not a fan of a book that ends on a really sad note just to encourage you to run out and buy the next one. Still, I enjoyed it, and I'll probably read the next one simply because it's sitting on my shelf looking all lonely.
