Now two of Canada’s top authorities in their fields, gardening expert Frankie Flowers and alternative medicine expert Bryce Wylde, show readers how they can harness the powerful healing of plants simply and inexpensively by stepping into their garden.

Power Plants introduces you to a carefully curated list of 49 plants that can be grown in almost any Canadian garden. Frankie’s easy instructions lead readers from planting to harvest, where Bryce picks up with clear guidelines on how to put the plants to work fighting everything from constipation to heartburn, high blood sugar to bad breakouts. Rated 5 out of 5 by from THE BEST BOOK FOR NATURAL REMEDIES!! I first found this book at our local public library. I have read many natural remedy books, but this one IS THE BEST! The information is broken down for readers who don't have any technical or medical background. Even my parents who have English as their second language can understand this book. Absolutely amazing! I am now purchasing TWO copies of this book for our family and will continue to share this extremely knowledgeable book!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy empowering read Whether you would like to know the health properties of specific plants that grow near you (or now if they are edible?) or want to expand your horizons on the topic for designing your next garden patch, this book is probably for you. Gardening experience is not required to understand the text. The authors' goal is clearly to initiate the beginners and to feed more tips to the "keeners". It's your choice whether you want to read this book cover to cover or if you want to bounce back and forth between the "chapters". Each plant is presented separately in a beautiful reference format. It's a lovely book to pick up if you just have a few minutes to you here and there as reading continuity is not required.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic! So glad that I brought this book into my life. Its comprehensive and read-as-you-need. I'm not a gardner, rather a HCP thus I love absorbing the knowledge about the benefits; My mum is a gardner and she adores the tips and tricks and portions about disease in plants.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Fantastic Book - Even for me, an Apartment Dweller! This book has surpassed my expectations. Who knew French beans might block fat absorption? I will be growing green beans on my patio for sure (and I will be making the accompanying soup recipe a lot - it is delicious). I will also be growing alfalfa soon and drinking its tea. This book has great information explained in a way anyone can understand and put to use. Valuable even if you choose not to grow your own "power plants," but be more informed in the produce aisle or at the local farmers' market. I shared this book at work and two friends have since purchased it.
