Four gorgeous girls are telling very ugly stories.

First Emily, Aria, Hanna, and Spencer claimed they found a dead body in the woods behind Spencer's house, only to have it vanish without a trace. Then, when the same woods went up in flames, they swore they saw someone who's supposed to be dead rise from the ashes. And even after all that, the pretty little liars are still playing with fire. Call me heartless, but it's about time someone shut these liars up for good. After all, nobody likes a girl who cries wolf—least of all me. . . .

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I have a hunch... That Ali's killer isnt this Billy Ford guy... And I dont think he truly was A either; he was framed. I knew Ian didnt do it from the beginning and Im frustrated because the girls think A is against them with the clues; which is not the case. The difference between the show and the book is: in the book they arent best friends but in the show they are unseparable. Since they dont spend much time together it makes it difficult for them to put the pieces together with the clues they find and are given as a group. I gave it 3 stars bc I think Jennas death is unrelated to all of this, the author couldve incorporated more into the character of Iris and the information that she shouldve given Hanna- and still none of the answers ive been seeking since the beginning are being answered which is annoying... But ill continue the series and hope that slowly they start to come.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pretty little liars go crazy... and amish **Spoilers for previous books.. none for Heartless** Heartless is the 7th book in the Pretty Little Liars series. Last we left off with the PLL’s ,they thought they’d seen Ali, or what seemed to be Ali, living and breathing again while they were running from a fire set to Spencer’s barn and the woods surrounding it. The cops and the rest of the world begin to think that the four girls are nothing but attention seeking liars. Things go downhill in big proportions. The girls finally focus on Ali’s murder/disappearance instead of the usual girl problems. A sends them all off on some kind of tasks to piece together what happened to Ali. Little do they know things go much deeper and touch many other lives than just their tight knit circle. Emily gets sent off to Amish world thinking she will find Ali alive and well. Hanna gets shipped off to some kind of mental institution to help her move on from her past, but ends up only bringing her closer to it. Aria finds help in the spiritual world with an unlikely new accomplice. And Spencer Hastings finds out what she thought she knew was nowhere near the truth, and ends up finding a whole new sort of family that’s been under her nose. I guess lying, cheating and concealing runs in the Hastings blood after all. The girls finally trust A. But was it all just a master mind plan to ruin their lives even more? As the cops make some gruesome new discoveries, the pretty little liars find themselves back at square one only with a lot more baggage full of confusion. Some loose ends are tied again. But in true PLL fashion, it’s not over until the fat lady sings. There’s many open gaps left for the closing book of the series, which I have high hopes for. This is another good solid instalment in my now favourite girl drama series. Can’t wait to get my hands on the last book and get every last juicy detail milked out of this addictive series.
