Rated 5 out of 5 by from favourite jane austen book austen's writing is a cutting and often hilarious commentary on regency society (and, sadly, some of those insights are totally applicable today).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this book The first Jane Austen book I ever read, at the very impressionable age of 17. It's so good! Jane Austen's writing is hilarious, biting, and a cutting commentary on the society in the regency period (and many of her insights, unfortunately, continue to be applicable today). I pity the person who dismisses her novels as merely romantic comedies.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from a classic I finally got to read this. I watched the movie and I loved it so this has been on my reading list since then. I'm usually hesitant about reading classics since I don't like the writing style but this was definitely a good read.
