Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best of both worlds come together in harmony!!!! I’ve always been a big Otaku since I was quite young. Then when I went to high school I became a big fan of classic literature. So mostly what I read is manga/graphic novels and classics works. And then this happens!!!!! The best of both worlds come together in harmony!!!! The classic love story of Pride and Prejudice but with gorgeous tradition manga drawings. The drawings are very clean, beautiful and detailed. The characters all look splendid and all have their own look that makes it easy to identify who is who to a fan without evening knowing. The details on the clothes and background are exquisite. These are some of the best manga drawing I’ve seen in a while; they’re no panel that is nothing less than clean, precise and beautiful. And we even have the traditional Ghibi that are here and there. Some people find it take away from the story. But I find those the part that reminds you it’s still a manga, the Ghibi’s appear at the silly moment and I find they’re always perfectly time for the humor and always make me giggle. I’ve read a few manga classics like this one and I find this one is here the Ghibi fit best. Because compared to a lot of other words there humour in this story. From Ms. Bennet and M. Collins, they’re the silly characters and the Ghibi moment fit well because the humour is there. Great decision to have the books available in paperback and hard cover editions. You can have the manga’s tradition paperback or the traditional hardcover from classic period novels.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Read I had bought the audio book for my husband's aunt for her birthday last year but had never actually read the story. So when I saw the manga at Chapters, I mentally added it to my reading list. I ended up getting a 20% off deal for online orders, so I bought it (the day after seeing it in store). The story was beautiful. Even though I predicted how it was going to end, it was still captivating. Although there were some Chibi drawings and shot comics, they were comical. The illustrations carried out throughout the story were gorgeous and showed the characters very well. The only reason I'm not giving five stars is becuase the chibi pictures took me out a bit. I'll definetly be reading more stories by Manga Classics.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fav Movie so Fav Manga? I bought this last year I believe, not the hardcover but the soft cover. I didn't realize people could bring the classics to manga, but the mixture is astounding if the right people do it, and they did it. I'm excited to see what's next and am interested in Jane and The Great Expectations ones ^^

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it! This is such an interesting way to read the classic novel. I have enjoyed reading this and Les Miserables. The graphics are very pretty, and the storyline is easy to follow. I have also pre-ordered the next three manga classics (The Scarlet Letter, Great Expectations, and Emma).

Editorial Reviews

This adaptation retains all of the charm and fun of the characters and situations, and is a great way to expose those without the time or inclination to pick up the novel. I can't think of a better way to experience this story other than reading the original novel." School Library Journal"The transition from book to manga was well done... It translated the book to manga, while still staying true to the story, which I really appreciated. Honestly, I thought it was just lovely." - Five Stars! Barnes and"P&P is an overly dramatic, incredibly silly romance with much miscommunication and swooning. It's a perfect shojo story though and transforms into manga very well. This is a great starter for kids or someone who wants to know the story. Or, like me, one who likes to experience the classics in all formats. " - Four Stars! Library"
