Rated 5 out of 5 by from Everyone should read this book Everyone needs Jane Austen in their life. This is one of my favourite books and I can not tell you how many times I read this book (a lot) The characters are great, Elizabeth is confident, cheerful and ahead of her time. Mr. Darcy, well Mr. Darcy is the ultimate book boyfriend. The secondary characters are hilarious. This is one book everyone should read at least once!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Annoying side characters I really like the main (Elizabeth and Darcy) but I couldn't get passed how the mother and sisters were a bunch of annoying brats. I guess I'm not a fan of classics to begin with, but I like these editions.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Charming and stubborn love story Finally sat down to read this classic, it did not disappoint. I found that the middle of the novel dragged a bit, but once the love story gets going I was enthralled. Always fun to follow up reading a classic by watching a movie adaptation and seeing what they cut!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Classic Classic! The characters are strong and easy to relate to, even today. Pride and Prejudice both reign in our world today and there is much to be learned from Austen's characters and strong narrative; consider what it would look like today - there are so many books that spawn from and take off from this one (e.g. Lizzie Bennet Diaries) that it's awesomeness and timelessness really speaks for itself!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from What's the big deal? Another extremely hyped book that bored me to tears... Couldn't even finish it
Date published: 2016-12-22
Rated 5 out of 5 by from True classic Pride and Prejudice is a story that has gone on to be the foundation of your typical Hollywood romance movie. Girl meets guy, they don't like each other, but they eventually grow to fall in love. So while Hollywood has turned this story structure into pretty generic stuff, Pride and Prejudice still holds up well as a very good read. It's also quite interesting to see how this story has shaped quite a few story tropes in modern day society.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Beloved Classic Pride & Prejudice is a book I usually read at least once a year. The characters are delightful, funny, sometimes a little villainous, and Mr. Darcy never fails to charm me. There is a reason why Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy are considered one of the most perfect, treasured couples in literary history. This is a wonderful romance novel but also a novel about family and self-growth. Pride & Prejudice is my favourite novel by Jane Austen and one of my favourite classics of all time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Must read classic A national classic - clearly since it's been remade and recreated so many times. Somewhere in between a traditional and non-traditional love story; we all have fallen for Mr. Darcy at one point or another .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from All time favourite novel! I've read Pride and Prejudice twice now, and it never fails to entertain me. Jane Austen is a master novelist, and this is possibly her best one. All the characters are so well developed, and there's so much to get out of this novel. Just absolutely amazing! #plumreview

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exciting I am not one for love novels but I have to tell you it is amazing. The characters are so well developed and you really want them to be happy. The main character is also really relatable and intelligent unlike most female characters in love novels especially. I could not put the book down, and I have to say that it is a very satisfying ending as well. There is a reason it is still one of the most popular books despite it being 200 years old. Well deserving of being called a classic.

• "Like Irvine Welsh, I am a great admirer of Jane Austen." --Alexander McCall Smith

 • "Another question I've been regularly asked over the past year is what models I had in mind when writing Curious Incident. Was it To Kill a Mockingbird? Was it Catcher in the Rye? In fact, the book most often in my mind was Pride and Prejudice." --Mark Haddon
