about

In this highly anticipated fifteenth novel in the Immortals After Dark series, #1 New York Times bestselling author Kresley Cole spins a sultry tale of a mighty warrior scarred inside and out and the beguiling sorceress with the power to heal him—or vanquish him forever.

Eternal Obsession
As a boy, Thronos, prince of Skye Hall, loved Lanthe, a mischievous Sorceri girl who made him question everything about his Vrekener clan. But when the two got caught in the middle of their families’ war, tragedy struck, leaving Thronos and Lanthe bitter enemies. Though centuries have passed, nothing can cool his seething need for the beautiful enchantress who scarred his body—and left an even deeper impression on his soul.

Endless Yearning
Lanthe, a once-formidable sorceress struggling to reclaim her gifts, searches for love and acceptance with all the wrong immortal suitors. But she’s never forgotten Thronos, the magnificent silver-eyed boy who protected her until she was ripped from the shelter of his arms. One harrowing night changed everything between them. Now he’s a notorious warlord with a blood vendetta against Lanthe, hunting her relentlessly.

Can the heat of desire burn brighter than vengeance?
With their families locked in conflict and battles raging all around them, will Thronos and Lanthe succumb to the brutal chaos that threatens everything they cherish? Or will the fragile bond they formed so long ago spark a passion strong enough to withstand even the darkest doubts?

Reviews

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Dark Skye (Immortals After Dark #15) by Kresley Cole This is the "epic story" of Thronos and Lanthe, a tale of everlasting love, beginning in childhood. We get some witty dialogue, some sizzling sexual tension, and an entertaining adventure battling dragons, buzzy bugs, demons, etc. Lanthe and Thronos make their way through four worlds, similar to the Treasure Hunt in No Rest for the Wicked. Sweet, poignant, amusing, sexy, suspenseful, and sometimes a tearjerker. Contents include a few explicit sex scenes and lots of bloody gore. Language includes several F-bombs but no religious cussing and no demeaning terms for female anatomy Relationship development between Thronos and Lanthe is credible and absorbing. I liked the slow development of trust, truth, and fierce loyalty. Sometimes I got annoyed and impatient with Lanthe. She seemed shallow and selfish for a long while.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Favourite Book Of This Series So Far! I'll admit that I wasn't exactly excited about Lanthe's book. She's not a character I wanted to hear more about. However. Best. Book. In. The. Series. #plumreview

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pleasantly surprised was never very interested in Lanthe's book, but it is actually one of my favourites. It does such a great job of bringing together many of the ongoing storylines and developing them simultaneously

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 4.5 stars-brilliant story 4.5 STARS-DARK SYKE is the fifteenth instalment in Kresley Cole’s paranormal romance Immortals After Dark series focusing on any number of immortal beings of the Lore. This is Vrekener Prince Thronos Talos and the sorceress Queen of Persuasion Melanthe’s (Lanthe) storyline. As the impending war known as The Accession between the supernatural builds, Prince Thronos seeks out the one person who destroyed his life and his body –five hundred years earlier-his mate Melanthe. As a Vrekener, Thronos is a winged angel of Skye but five centuries ago an attack against his mate’s family left Thronos mortally wounded and clinging to life. Decades of regeneration and recovery left Thronos in perpetual pain and a need for revenge wrought from his heart and his soul. With his mate on the run for her life, Thronos life falls into chaos when he finally crosses paths with the woman who will either kill him or save him from damnation. The relationship between Thronos and Lanthe is volatile and destructive, and in this a good portion of DARK SKYE finds our leading couple in a virtual war with one another which further amped my anxiety in a series where destined mates fight their attraction and destiny. Thronos and Lanthe have a history together, one that started as children making this a friends to lovers/second chance storyline for two people destroyed by a mistake from the past. Both believe that the other has betrayed each and the results have left Thronos and Lanthe ill prepared for the truth. As our couple is thrown between Lorean Worlds and through portals not necessarily of their own making, a reluctant truce will be the only thing that keeps each other alive. Because most of the storyline focuses on the building relationship between Thronos and Lanthe, time spent with the previous storyline characters is limited and only when necessary. Kresley Cole continues to build towards The Accession-a war that has been prophesied to destroy the supernatural powers. Nucking-Futs Nix reveals more of her all-seeing abilities as she continues to play matchmaker between the species hoping for an alliance within the Lore. As mortal enemies become friends and lovers, Nix ventures further in the hopes of finding her sister and pushing the inevitable a little further in time. DARK SKYE is a staggeringly wonderful and imaginative storyline that furthers the addicting Immortals After Dark series closer to The Accession. Kresley’s passion and fascination with the supernatural is matched by her brilliant stories and wondrous imagination.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 4 stars 4 stars I was excited for this book because it's been built up since Rydstrom and Sabine's book, which was book 9? But after a while, I forgot about them because we got so many other wonderful stories. Then, I didn't really feel that excitement anymore when I picked up this book. But, this book did have me. I loved how Lanthe was her own person and didn't apologize for who she was. I also loved Thronos. He was a strong and enduring character who's been though so much at the hands of his mate. I hated though, how he tried to tear her down because of her past, any chance he got...until he didn't While I feel like the characters and their budding love story was amazing, I felt that the ending was beyond rushed. I loved the idea of what happened but I felt like it should have played out differently. I was left unfulfilled, I think. I wanted more from and for them because they deserved it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Probably the best book in the series Tight pacing, and the most enjoyable pairing out of all the couples in the Immortals library. Lanthe is both clever, funny and vulnerable without overdoing it, and Thronos is swoon-worthy with a (somewhat logical) hangup. I like that the romantic conflict in this particular title didn't centre around a simple verbal misunderstanding, rather a set of principles that both characters needed to compromise on. Very good read

Rated 5 out of 5 by from "Dark Skye" by Kresley Cole. Book 15 in the Immortals After Dark series. I LOVED THIS BOOK! A 500 year old love story in the making! Thronos and Melanthe (Lanthe) are the characters I've been waiting for to get their happily ever after and Ms. Cole has given them a romance like no other. Thronos is a Vrekener and has been chasing Melanthe for 500 years because she's his fated mate. A tragedy happened early in their relationship and has kept them apart for this long. But Thronos has finally captured her! There may be no love left between them but she's his mate and he will have her anyway. The attraction between them is still present and undeniable. He won't lose her again. Lanthe is a Sorceri and is scared to death of Vrekeners. They have been trying to kill her and her sister their entire lives. But Thronos is after her for a different reason. He means to claim her as his mate. Well it's not happening! There's no way she's mating a Vrekener that's responsible for the many tragedies she and her sister have suffered throughout their lives. I loved this story line for Thronos and Melanthe. The beginning of Thronos and Melanthe's relationship is so heartbreaking! When their past is revealed and facts are brought to light, the personal emotional growth of each character in this book is heartwarming to read. A roller coaster of emotions between the two, from hate to love to trust. The chemistry between the two is off the charts HOT! A sizzling buildup throughout the story makes you not want to put the book down and just keep reading. Their romance spans dimensions making this book very action packed and fast flowing. What I found really interesting is that this book's timeline is happening at the same time as the previous 2 or 3 books! We also find out more of what is happening with Nix the Ever-Knowing! I absolutely loved this book! I can't wait to read the next one!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing This is the 5th time I've read this series and its just as good as the first time. She really knows how to write her romance, action and adventure and her humor is clever and witty. Her females are stong and self sufficient who are with their men because they choose to be. This woman knows how to write an amazing leading man one u will fall for everytime. Men who are strong but not afraid to be sensitive and make sure their partner never forgets how much he loves her. Men that stay true and never stray knowing that they will live for eternity loving the same woman. If men were smart they would read these. Everything to make a woman happy is in the pages if these books. Now to wait patiently for the next book...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dark Skye I've been wondering about Laneth since kiss of a demon king and Her sisters happy ending. This has been one of my favourites so far, it has classic elements of Coles other immortals after dark stories but presented differently. And I am waiting the next books eagerly, because all the pieces seem to be coming together

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Oh-My Not only did I not want this book to end , ever, but I truly could barely bring myself to set it down, even knowing it would bring me to the end that much faster. Kresley Cole spins her epic tales like no other. She is truly a master story spinner. Awaiting each of her book releases is pure torture. Lanthe and Thronos's story was one that I have been waiting (not very patiently) forever for and it did not disappoint. It was funny, sad, steamy, and radiated the power of love through forgiveness. One of my favorite books to date!
