The first collection of poetry by the New York Times bestselling author of The Dark Between Stars.

Love Her Wild is a collection of new and beloved poems from Atticus, the young writer who has captured the hearts and minds of hundreds of thousands of avid followers on his Instagram account @atticuspoetry, including superstars like Karlie Kloss and Shay Mitchell. He was dubbed the “#1 poet to follow” by Teen Vogue and “the world’s most tattoo-able” poet by Galore magazine, in Love Her Wild, Atticus captures what is both raw and relatable about the smallest and the grandest moments in life: the first glimpse of a new love in Paris; skinny dipping on a summer’s night; the irrepressible exuberance of the female spirit; or drinking whiskey in the desert watching the rising sun. With honesty, poignancy, and romantic flair, Atticus distills the most exhilarating highs and the heartbreaking lows of life and love into a few perfectly evocative lines, ensuring that his words will become etched in your mind—and will awaken your sense of adventure.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Be still my heart! This book made my heart skip a beat and a times lose my breath. The words on the pages were meaningful and deep. I clutched the book to my chest at times and would think about the words on the pages. They would make me smile and also bring a tear to my eye as I could totally relate to a lot of what was written. I love poetry and I write poetry myself, but I have to say that Atticus is amazing and the photographs that went along with the book oh be still my heart. I love this book. I recommend this book to other poetry readers and lovers.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Naive, lacking in direction Comes across as a lonely prepubescent outcast. The poems lack a direction and often seem to be reaching, for something greater, but just... not quite grabbing it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from 2.5 what-in-the-Hoobastank-did-I-just-read stars I understand the commotion surrounding Atticus, I really do. He's young, drives the ladies/fellas crazy, wears a mask (oh, so mysterious), and to top it all off, he was praised by a Victoria Secret model-- I'd say, he has collectively created a unique brand for himself. However, to give this anything more than 2.5 stars would be misleading because the above-mentioned has nothing to do with the actual quality of his poems. The vocabulary used throughout this collection is simple. Nothing wrong with that. But if you're going to go the simple route and use short stanzas, then you better make sure those two-liners are somewhat impressionable. Unfortunately, these poems did nothing to stimulate my brain, in fact, majority of them made me gag. However, I will admit that the cover and corresponding imagery in this book is very aesthetically pleasing. But WHY are these poems so overhyped? I once wrote a poem about sausages and potatoes at the tender age of 13 that was more emotionally provoking than some of these poems. (sorry if that made you salivate) All in all, I understand that poetry is subjective, so take my review as a grain of salt if you will; however, I am quite surprised by the amount of 5-star reviews on here because none of these poems are revolutionary by any means. Here is an example of a poem that I liked: “I hope to arrive to my death, late, in love, and a little drunk.” Not bad, right? Sadly, I only liked two other poems. Here is an example of a poem that made me gag: "She was just another broken doll dreaming of a boy with glue.” *barfs* Grab a bucket because this book is gunna make you cringe like you've never cringed before. If you enjoy Atticus' style of poetry, that's great, but I think I will stick with my Edgar Allan Poe, William Ernest Henley etc.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Ok I was a little disappointed with his work. I honestly only enjoyed a handful of poems. It was relatively well written and the illustrations complimented the pieces nicely. However I found that in comparison to other poets (ex. r.h Sin, Rupi Kaur, Michael Faudet, Amanda Lovelace) many of Atticus's poems lacked depth and real emotion.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A good read Really lovely. I was a bit disappointed by how much of each page was an image and not actual poetry though. I was hoping to read more!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great, but not the greatest A very good read, however I didn't find it as raw as something like "Milk and Honey" or "The Princess Saves Herself in This One" The style of writing was very nice though, and perfect for the more romantic type.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Connected This is my second book of poetry and probably will be a collection I relate to the most. Three sections comprise this collection, Love, Her, and Wild, and many of these pieces have intermittently meant something to me. I have noted those pages and hope to ponder along those lines often. One of them, in particular, struck a chord with me since I felt as though this was needed for me at this time: Poetry’s magic is that it is found when it’s needed. Proof that little pieces of small lines and words can make a huge impact to someone. And of course once read, the magic occurs. I read this in three sittings, and recommend the same to others to fully enhance the experience and absorb the words. Each sitting should be dedicated to a particular section, of which I read in technically three days, but really under 48 hours and can also be done so in a day. A quick read indeed and one that will be treasured for a long time. I will be most certainly following Atticus the poet in hopes of more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from awesome! Beautiful pages for beautiful words. I love the construction and the originality of the illustrative element. The burst of poetry back into popular culture, often through social media, has been such an exciting development and Atticus brings a unique and eternally moving addition to that movement. Following his writing on instagram has been a pleasure and seeing those words put onto beautiful pages is so exciting. I've only begun to explore this work but I can already tell it is one I am going to cherish.
