The breakout star of ABC’s The Bachelorette and New York Times bestselling author of It’s Not Okay returns with a “relatable AF” (Cosmopolitan) collection of her adventures as a still-single gal surviving and thriving in New York City.

Sharing moments like finding her first New York apartment (the front door broke so she had to use the fire escape), her first dates on “celebrity Tinder” (just as bad as regular Tinder) and finally, watching her ex-fiancé propose to another woman on Bachelor in Paradise, Andi Dorfman doesn’t shy away from pulling back the curtain on the life of a reality star who’s returned to reality.

Once again, Dorfman “doesn’t hold back” (HuffPost) as she recounts her romantic mishaps, city adventures, and, of course, insider Bachelor experiences. Single State of Mind is Sex and the City for the reality TV generation.
Andi Dorfman was born on April 3, 1987 in Atlanta, Georgia. She is a graduate of Louisiana State University (2009) and Wake Forest University School of Law (2012). She is a former Assistant District Attorney for Fulton County, Georgia. She appeared as a contestant on The Bachelorette (10th season) and The Bachelor (18th season). She is...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from amazing yet again... This book was awesome, just as her first was! I love how she is so open and tells it how it is. She is so funny. Reading her books make me wish I was her best friend. I gave it 4 stars just because some chapters I wasn't very engaged in. But overall I would recommend this book. I would also suggest you read her first one before you read this one. I hope she writes more!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sex and the City vibes Loved this book! It felt like I could live my single life vicariously through Andi. It was fun to read about Andi's journey of moving to New York City, dating and making new friends. This book is not a Bachelorette tell-all but if you're a fan of Andi you will probably enjoy this book. If you want a Bachelorette tell-all, read her first book.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Enjoyable She really tells all in this book, but from the countless interviews I saw, I guess I was expecting it to be more exciting. However, she did expose some very personal things, which was interesting to read about. It's not a great literary read, it's definitely not hard to write a book like this, so reviewing it as a legitimate book, I have to give it 3/5 stars because it really isn't that well written, nor that exciting. Read if you're a big bachelor or andi fan, otherwise, you could skip it and not be missing anything.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from so much better than the first one! This was like the real life Carrie Bradshaw. Nice and easy read and you get to see the real life struggle so that was fun. Appreciated her really letting us get in to her life, it was like watching a tv show but in book form.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I Loved This I enjoyed this book way more than I was anticipating. It felt like reading a journal of a girl who first moved to New York City. You defiantly don't need to know her on the Bachelor to read and enjoy this book. I thought it was so good and highly recommend to all women in their 20's and 30's. This book was excellent.

Editorial Reviews

"Dorfman's book is about the quest for love, and she takes readers through it — one lousy date with a hot new guy after the next."
