Hot-tempered 15-year-old Ichigo Kurosaki, the hero of the popular fantasy-adventure Bleach, has the unsettling ability to see spirits who are unable to rest in peace. His sixth sense leads him to Rukia, a Soul Reaper who destroys Hollows (soul-devouring monsters) and ensures the deceased find repose with the Soul Society. When she's injured in battle, Rukia transfers her sword and much of her power to Ichigo, whose spiritual energy makes him a formidable substitute Soul Reaper. But the orange-haired teenager isn't sure he wants the job: too many risks and moral dilemmas.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Yawn This series ended up being boring, unfortunately as it started off with a really cool premise. It fell into the trap of Long running series and became repetitive

Rated 3 out of 5 by from i gave up this series proved too long and repetitive to continue. The first 27 or so volumes are pretty good tho

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Such a stress-breaker This series, although long, is filled with so many hilarious moments and incredibly lovable characters- the twisting plots are ones that keep you wanting the next volume again and again. It's truly bound by a shonen heart and honestly just what a long day needs for someone to unwind; OR if you just happen to be having a slow day, Bleach really knows how to get that inner excitement going full rev XD

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Bleach falls into the shonen trap Bleach starts well but at some point it begins to feel largely directionless and repetitious, and you will quickly forget how much fun it was in the beginning. That's always going to be the pitfall of these long shonen manga series. Bleach fares better than some, but not well enough.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fav Manga of All Time! Bleach is my first Manga from when I was a kid and will always hold a special place in my heart. It is inspiring and whimsical and perfect for all ages. The story line is creative and carefully thought out (except for, understandably, the last arc). Would absolutely recommend!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great manga for all ages This is a wonderfully written and drawn manga series about a young high school boy named Ichigo who can see the spirits of the departed who have not been able to pass on to the next stage in life. He meets Rukia a Soul Reaper who responsible for helping souls depart, while at the same time destroying Hollows, who eat souls. It is a very cute and interesting story that would appeal to both boys and girls.

Dordonii, knowing that Ichigo is holding back his hollow powers decides to attack the innocent Nel! Ichigo now has to make the choice: Save his power for the important fights, or save his little arrancar friend. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Over the top fantastic Over all,Bleach is a great manga.I've already read all the existing chapters (1-245).And every single part of it was great.I especially love vol.12,cause you're in for a big surprise. The anime is also very well done.Although there are some filler arcs,it still adds more suspense to this amazing story.I've also watched all the anime, but if you want the real stuff, read the manga first.Even if this is a manga in the "shonen" category, girls can still love it,cause it has it all! Surely, you're in for some action!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from HIGHLY recommended! Whether you're a fan of action, humour, angst, or even a touch of romance here and there, Bleach has it all. Filled with many interesting characters-some loveable, some not so loveable-you'll find yourself eagerly tearing through the pages to find out what happens next. Fans of Naruto are sure to love Bleach. Bleach is also a great introductory to the action genre of manga. It may be considered a 'shonen' manga, meaning meant for boys, but girls can easily fall in love with Bleach as well (Hey, look at me, I'm a girl and I'm practically gushing about it!). This volume if one of my particular favourites, for many reasons. See for yourself why Bleach is so good, and go by yourself a copy today!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Anime is just as Manga Although the Anime is in fillers that doesn't stop the manga. Sitting over 200 chapters and a new chapter being released weekly in Shounen Jump in Japan Bleach shows no sign of slowing down. Bleach is just as adictive as Naruto! So if you love Naruto you'll love Bleach and vice versa!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BEST EVER!! Oh my god, I cannot explain how much I love this manga. It's incredible. So much feeling in it, and funny parts, too!! Tite Kubo HAS to be one of my favorite artists AND writers. For ANYONE who wants a good read, or is looking to start reading manga, I highly suggest BLEACH. Awesome, awesome, AWEEEESOME manga! <3

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best manga I've ever read! This manga has a really good storyline and awesome characters. I attacked the people at Chapters to get a hold of Volume 2 the day after getting Volume 1 (sorry about that, by the way.)! Each character has something that I like about them (which is rare for me) and it continuously makes me laugh and even cry. If you want to read a good shounen with good storyline, good characters (including strong female roles! Yeah!) and a good amount of humor and emotion, BLEACH is for you! I've already got a few friends hooked on it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from An excellent read! To anyone out there who enjoys a good shonen manga that mixes swordfights, interesting bad guys, twisted plots, and dealings with the dead, Bleach is certainly a manga to take a look at! This first book explains a bit behind what a Shinigami is, and what they do. As an opening to the series, this will certainly get you hooked! With a ton of humour mixed into everything, you're sure to get some strange looks when you attempt to stiffle your laughs (I know I did!) This manga is reccomended to anyone who likes LONG series - Bleach goes on for quite a while, and the full plot unfolds slowly, but is an action packed manga, a great read!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from AWESOME!!!! I loved Zombie Powder by Kubotite and this series takes it even farther than Zombie Powder could (even though it would have been nice to hear of an ending for it!!!!) Either way this Manga is one of the best reads a person can find and I highly recommend it to anyone who wonders what would the kid from the sixth sense do afterwards.
