Fifth grader Tamaya Dhilwaddi and seventh grader Marshall Walsh have been walking to and from Woodbridge Academy together since elementary school. But their routine is disrupted when bully Chad Wilson challenges Marshall to a fight. To avoid the conflict, Marshall takes a shortcut home through the off-limits woods. Tamaya reluctantly follows. They soon get lost, and they find trouble. Bigger trouble than anyone could ever have imagined.
In the days and weeks that follow, the authorities and the government become involved, and what they uncover might affect the future of the world.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from a little mystery I like the change of point of views between the children's perspective and the scientists' perspective. Overall, an interesting read. I was first introduced to Louis Sachar's works when I was a kid, and I continued to follow his books even as a grownup now.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome story! I really didn't enjoy Holes, so I was reluctant to pick up this book. However, have no worries, all though some things are slightly similar, Fuzzy Mud was a wonderful story about friendship and bravery, and I finished it in a couple hours. Definitely recommended by me!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for Reluctant Readers. Admittedly I'm not the target audience for this novel, but I really enjoyed Fuzzy Mud. It has good characters, relatable conflicts, real suspense and mystery. All in all an intriguing read. Most importantly it easily caters to both the reluctant and most avid of young readers, boy or girl.
