The London Monopoly Pub Crawl

This is a chance to get to know London and visit five very interesting pubs situated on or adjacent to the London Monopoly board layout. By visiting these pubs it allows you to visit some of London's famous landmarks, tourist attractions and some nice historic areas. All the pubs recommended in this pub crawl have been independently visited and assessed. No payment has been made to include the pub in the crawl. Other pubs on the board sequence can be visited by using one of the other four Pub Crawls in this five part series.

We promote sensible drinking. Therefore, when visiting any of these pubs or taverns please enjoy yourselves and experience the pleasure they offer. Finally, in true Monopoly style, you don't need to be a 'Rich Uncle Pennybags' to drink in or at any of these pubs.

The Walk Itself: This is the last crawl in the series and is a very long walk due to the remoteness of the Old Kent Road board location. It will take about 90 minutes walking time and cover a distance of 3.75 miles. However, the walking time can be shortened by 45 minutes by catching a bus from the Fenchurch Street area to the final Old Kent Road pub. The crawl will take you from Whitechapel Road to Old Kent Road via Brick Lane, Old Spitalfields, Petticoat Lane and Leadenhall markets. It will also take you through Londons financial districts and the must see tourist venues of the Tower of London and Tower Bridge. The walk includes five pubs, which range from the sinister Kray twins pub haunt to those filled with navel artefacts and those having some very architecturally interesting interiors. Also, by passing Go and collecting £200 in salary from the bank there will be time to put your feet up and have some refreshments at the Counting House, an ex-bank pub. All the pubs visited offer a good beer selection and serve food or bar snacks.

Children are not allowed in the Fenchurch Street pub, so this crawl is for adults only.

All pubs are accessible for wheelchair users if they only require using the ground floor bar and dining facilities.

This is a walk for Weekdays only due to two of the pubs located in the City vicinity (The Counting House & East India Arms) being closed on Saturdays and Sundays.

The Monopoly itinerary includes Whitechapel and Old Kent Road (the two Brown squares) located on side 1 of the board. Additionally, two of the four railway Stations on the board (Liverpool Street and Fenchurch Street) are visited and you will also have an opportunity to visit the Pass Go square venue and collect £200(!) from the Bank.

Some of the pubs are close together so in between pub visits its worth taking the time to explore the nearby attractions that have been identified.
