And when Mikhail’s laser business focus hones in on Lindsay and becomes personal, very personal, she doesn't know whether his interest is genuine or a means of undermining her client's case. Regardless, there's no way she’s going to be added to the list of women who’ve jumped into the sexy millionaire’s bed. Trying to resist Mikhail and keep work her priority is more than enough to deal with, but then someone begins anonymously sending Lindsay  roses… black roses. As a love token? Or something more sinister? She may have to run into Mikhail’s arms and allow him to save her from her secret admirer...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This series get consistently better Mikhail Lysenko is a shrewd businessman; when he know what he wants he goes after it with laser focus. Lindsay Carlisle is lawyer on the wrong end of Mikhail's crosshairs, but she thinks he's pursuing her to gain an advantage on his business deal. And she definitely does not want to be another notch on his bedpost. He just wants her, any way he can get her. But when her life is threatened everything changes and Lindsay is forced into close proximity with Mikhail. Only he can't hide his true self or his intentions from her anymore and he's not afraid to reveal his darkest secrets. ARC provided in exchange for an honest review.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from definitely fits the international bad boy type! Mikhail comes across as a very strong alpha male - confident and possessive and with the arrogance associated with a man used to getting what he wants. I liked that Lindsay didn't capitulate immediately to his demands, although ultimately he's too hard to resist. He does come on quite strong, and had it not been made clear that Lindsay secretly was enthralled with his attention to her (despite not understanding why he would choose her over the multitude of females he could have) it would have bordered on stalkerish (particularly when he shows up at her house despite her initial rejection). But the truth of the matter is that Lindsay is equally attracted to him and they share some passionate love scenes. Mikhail doesn't really soften up in character until the end of the story ( he seems to get angry a lot at a variety of circumstances, most notably when anything is beyond his control). Things change for him though with Lindsay in the picture, and when she is threatened he finds that he cares very deeply about what is happening to her and finding out the culprit. The suspense plot doesn't overwhelm the story, just adds a bit of an edge. Lindsay worries that her involvement with Mikhail could cause her problems in her job, but that doesn''t stop her from taking a chance on him, one that turns out to be a good choice. The story is told from both point's of view which I liked as I always enjoy seeing the thoughts and feelings of both characters in a romance. Part of Mikhail's harsh exterior comes from his background and his Russian Mafia family connections, ones that he has steered clear of in building up his business. Still they've left an emotional impact on him, making it hard to commit to a relationship - until Lindsay, who drives him crazy and soothes him at the same time. As an aside, I noticed a lot of exclamation marks in both Mikhail and Lindsay's thought patterns - enough that I started to pay attention to when they showed up. I thought they could have been toned down a bit, but that's my personal preference. Overall, a good story with interesting characters, not too long, and with some sexy and emotional scenes. 3.5 stars.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Carole Mortimer doesn't disappoint! Carole Mortimer has always been one of my favorite romance authors. I enjoyed this book - steamy love scenes, with romance, mystery and intrigue thrown in. This one doesn't quite fit in with the rest of the International Bad Boys series - I found it to be more in the style of the romance novels I read when I was younger - powerful businessman takes what he wants (Lindsey); somewhat weak-willed heroine can't resist and gives in - it didn't jive with my expectation of the book based on the other books in the series. Still definitely worth a read - Mortimer doesn't fail to produce a great romance novel.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Full of action, intrigue and fireworks. Sensual, brooding and commanding are perfect descriptions of Mikhail. Lindsay is his total opposite but falls under his spell. Lindsay and Mikhail were a total mismatch as a couple for me. He was mysterious, she was way too trusting. He was a borderline stalker and she had a curious nature. Drawn to one another despite all the red flags cautioning against it, nothing will stand in their way. Pursued by the Devil is full of action, intrigue and fireworks. I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pursued By The Devil Pursued By The Devil by Carole Mortimer is a fast paced, steamy hot read. Mikail is rich, strong willed, and very alpha. He's used to getting what he wants, and he wants Lindsay. At first I found him a little too forceful, not accepting Lindsay's rejection of him. However, it is very clear that Lindsay wants Mikhail as much as he wants her. She is conflicted between personal and professional though, and it is a struggle for her to accept the intense feelings that flow between her and Mikhail. Lindsay is a strong heroine who tries to deny her inner wants, but she can only resist for so long. Things heat up to scorching between Lindsay and Mikhail very, very quickly. At the same time someone unknown is causing Lindsay unease. This makes Mikhail even more protective and determined to keep Lindsay safe...with him. Pursued By The Devil is a whirlwind of passion, heat, and a touch of mystery. Carole sucked me in and in a short time made me care for these characters. I really liked how she worked in Mikhail's background, and the secrets he hides. I liked how Mikhail's character grew from hard work and determination. Carole managed to make a man who could have been easy to dislike very likable and real with the reveal of his inner self and feelings. While the speed of their relationship was a bit surreal, the characters themselves felt real and this held them up well through the pace of Pursued By the Devil. Easy to read and escape into, I'd recommend Pursued By The Devil to any romance reader who likes things hot. 3.5-5 stars

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent Steamy hot, fun read. Lindsay Carlisle is a lawyer who is representing the other side of a business deal by this doesn't stop Mikhail Lysenko's unrelenting pursuit. She's been keeping him at arms length even though he shows up uninvited all the time. When black roses start showing up on her doorstep, she can't hide her fear and Mikhail can't keep his protective instincts in check. He will do whatever it takes to keep her safe! A little bit of drama, a little suspense, and a whole lot of steam make this a good read. I would recommend it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Another steamy read from Carole Mortimer! Pursued by The Devil is a short and sexy read. Wealthy businessman, Mikhail Lysenko, is a sexy, moody, doesn't take no for an answer, Russian bad boy, alpha male. All things I really enjoy in a hero. Mikhail has set his sights on lawyer, Lindsay Carlisle and plans to make her his as soon as possible. The only problem is that her current client is on the opposite side of a potential business deal with the wealthy and powerful Mikhail. Despite her strong attraction to Mikhail, she knows she can't afford to get involved with him. But he is both persistent and persuasive and her walls come crumbling down sooner rather than later. I enjoyed both of these characters and the different sides they brought out in each other. Their relationship moves fast but it feels real and honest. And when Mikhail and Lindsay give in to their attraction, they heat up the pages. There is also some suspense mixed in with their sexy romance and it amplifies Mikhail's protective and possessive side. Their intense relationship only gets stronger with each hurdle and they prove to be a very good match for one another. I've always enjoyed Carole Mortimer's writing, and her latest books, including her Alpha series and Pursued by the Devil are sexier than ever. I received a copy of this book via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
