Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good continuation. Laurens follows the second book in her series with an another engaging series. Vane and Patience might not be the compelling character that Honoria and Devil were but they are still worth the read.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not bad I loved Vane, but had a harder time liking Patience. While I understood her reasoning, she was even more difficult than Honoria. She also intentionally hurt and judged Vane, which I did not appreciate at all. As a result, I was not as engaged with this couple as I was with Devil and Honoria from Devil's Bride. The setting was interesting given its gothic-like elements, but I soon got bored because the mystery was predictable. Thankfully, Vane kept me interested. The book only picked up when the house guests moved to London and we got to read about the Cynsters. Unlike Devil, though, Vane was able to put his feelings in words, which I liked a lot. P.S: I love Chillingworth!!
