Forget everything you ever knew about unicorns . . .

Astrid Llewelyn has always scoffed at her eccentric mother's stories about killer unicorns. But when one attacks her boyfriend—ruining any chance of him taking her to prom—Astrid finds herself headed to Rome to train as a unicorn hunter at the ancient Cloisters the hunters have used for centuries. However, all is not what it seems at the Cloisters. Outside, unicorns wait to attack. And within, Astrid faces other, unexpected threats: from bone-covered walls that vibrate with terrible power to the hidden agendas of her fellow hunters to her growing attraction to a handsome art student . . . an attraction that could jeopardize everything.

Diana Peterfreund is the author of many books for adults and children, including the critically acclaimedFor Darkness Shows the StarsandAcross a Star-Swept Sea. She lives with her family outside Washington, DC, in a house full of bookshelves, and is always on the lookout for lost cities or stray rocket ships.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really Enjoyed It This books interesting take on the world of unicorns definitely had me intrigued, and kept me glued to it's pages throughout the whole novel. And the reason it kept me hook is because of the reason of how and why they hunt unicorns. So if the description has you curious, I bet you will like it. There is even a second book to continue the story, even though it didn't really need it. Pick it up if killer unicorns interests you.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Rampant Rampant has an interesting perception on unicorns,I rather enjoy it. Though at times I misunderstood descriptions due to certain words or other factors. I thought there was a lacking of mystery but maybe I was searching where there was none to be had. My only complaint is that I had difficulty picturing some scenes or people, however that may be my fault. This eBook is no easy read for people who've grown the habit of reading less diverse words. I recommend this eBook to those who enjoy a more mystical story, a dash of romance, family difficulties, gory fight scenes and powerful women. ¥¥ Thank you & Read on!! ¥¥
