Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not practical Though this book is super cute, it is not particularly practical. You are not going to go through a dictionary mid-conversation to find the sign for what you are trying to say-- you'll just fingerspell it. And with the internet, you can Google any sign by simply typing the word + ASL. You will get an actual video of someone doing the sign rather than just a picture with arrows.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Best portable size on the market I have, since my original review, had this dictionary swiped and replaced it with another publisher. I truly had not appreciated how clear the descriptions were or how compact this pocket dictionary truly was. Other dictionaries say they are pocket dictionaries but are larger by height though thinner than a mass paperback, but this one is about the size of two credit cards by an inch - it truly fit in my pocket! It was perfect for carrying to meetings with my Deaf colleague (since none of us are fluent in ASL) and easily to class. Yes, it is incomplete and I constantly had to think of synonyms to express thoughts. However, I miss the clarity and size of this one.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Convenient but not complete I appreciate the small size and its concise but specific descriptions on the signs it includes. However, I am constantly trying to think of synonyms or alternative ways to express myself when searching for signs. Great portability but have a bigger dictionary at home, as this one will not get you through learning ASL.
