about

Award winning author/adapter/illustrator Paul O. Zelinsky's Caldecott Medal Winning book! Perfect for readers of all fairy tales.

"A breathtaking interpretation gives the fairy tale new art-historical roots, with illustrations that daringly-and effectively-mimic the masters of Italian Renaissance painting."--Publishers Weekly

Trapped in a tower with no door, Rapunzel is allowed to see no one but the sorceress who has imprisoned her-until the day a young prince hears her singing to the forest birds. . . . Rated 4 out of 5 by from good choice for collection. 36p 9.5x12.25 with dust jacket, same picture under dust jacket. Caldecott medal is an embossed sticker. Full page illustrations, small amount of text. It is the best Rapuzel there is without getting into Disney books, if that's your choice. I personally would have chosen a different artist if it was available but this is the only one. And it won a Caldecott medal so it isn't that bad.
