about

From the New York Times bestselling author of Tempt the Stars comes the latest in the series that's "well worth getting hooked on"(Fresh Fiction).

You’d think that being chief seer for the supernatural world would come with a few perks. But as Cassie Palmer has learned, being Pythia doesn’t mean you don’t have to do things the hard way. That’s why she finds herself on a rescue mission skipping through time—even though she doesn’t entirely understand her dimension-bending new power.

Rescuing her friend John Pritkin should have been an in-and-out kind of deal, but with the near-immortal mage’s soul lost in time, Cassie has to hunt for it through the ages—with Pritkin’s demon dad in tow. He’s the only one who can reverse Pritkin’s curse, but with the guardians of the timeline dead set on stopping anyone from mucking about, Cassie will have to figure out how to get her friend back without ruffling too many feathers—or causing a world-ending paradox or two....
Karen Chance is the New York Times bestselling author of the Cassie Palmer series, including Tempt the Stars and Hunt the Moon. She has lived in France, the United Kingdom, and Hong Kong, but always comes back to America.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Reap The Wind This is an urban fantasy with a twist. First book has a lot of information that might not stick at first but as the story progresses everything falls in to place. I love this series and highly recommend it to fantasy lovers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Reap the Wind For a series that has left me emotionally invested in the welfare of a fictional character to the point that I have heart palpitations at the thought of something bad happening to them (Pritkin) I came away from this book somehow unperturbed by his fate still being up in the air. Oh but be sure of the fact that I don't have fingernails anymore due to my worry. This book, and to be fair this entire series, will have you asking did anything happen? AND, how did the author get so much plot into one book? It's amazing how she manages to both make us - or at least myself - feel as if nothing and everything has happened (and that's a complement in case it doesn't come across at first). She can draw your mind and worry away from something (um, is Cassie going to manage to save Pritkin?) by making us fall in love with everything else Cassie gets up to. It's amazing how she makes us want to pull out our hair to know what happens next and happily wait for however long she needs in order to finish the next one (because there have been the occasional delay in publication, but thankfully the wait had not reached George R.R. Martin length - yet). And then there are the characters. I can't say enough about these characters. Though perhaps I have since I've already mentioned how I'm emotionally involved in the welfare of a fictional character, and it's not just one (though one of them is in dire straights, causing me stress). Is that not proof enough of how great she is at making these people seem real? Or is it something I should be seeing a professional about? To be honest, I don't care, I just want to know that everyone will come away alright. Though I can acknowledge that part of the plot is war and casualties are an inevitability in any war. I'll be angry about it for a while (unless it's Cassie, Pritkin, or Mircea then the anger will last longer) but eventually I'll, and everyone else, will get over it. This book, just like the rest in the series, will leave you unable to put it down until you've read it at least twice simply because it is that good. And other than giving the book and the author a standing ovation, I don't know what more can be said.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Don't Miss this Book! This is one of those series that you keep checking in on the author's website for updates on when the next is going to be released. This series is an original, you just can't relate it to any other series out there. Its amazing. There is a strong female heroin, the love triangle and a ton of non-stop action. Read it. You won't regret it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Book of the Series so Far! "Reap the Wind" by Karen Chance. Book 7 in The Cassie Palmer series. I LOVED THIS BOOK! It's the longest book in the series (so far) and rightly so! So much happens in this book. The author has said (via social media) that the book was actually longer! So this book is really like a Part 1 of 2, the next book coming out soon, I hope! So yes, this book ends with a cliffhanger ending, not all story lines are solved, but WOW! What a story it is! Cassie has only been the Pythia for 3 months and now her adventure continues. Her war-mage, Pritkin, has been cursed and his soul is travelling back through time until he no longer exists. There is a war starting between vampires and the fey. Her vampire "husband" Mircea, may be taking advantage of her powers. Her Pythian court consists of children. The head of the Silver Circle, Jonas, is not cooperating with her. Oh, and she has to figure out a way to stop her rogue acolytes from bringing back the Greek God Ares! All in a days work for the Pythia. O-M-G! I really don't know how Ms. Chance kept all these story lines straight and flowing together in complete harmony...but she does! Time travel, action packed sequences, sexy moments, humourous situations and banter, intriguing characters, vivid descriptions and mind blowing revelations are just some of the things that are found in this book. As I said before, this book does end with a cliffhanger ending and I can't wait to read the next book to find out what happens next! LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS BOOK!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Reap the Wind Even though she doesn’t entirely understand her dimension-bending new power, Cassie is skipping through time on a mission to rescue her friend John Pritkin but the guardians of the time-lime are dead set on stopping her in this thrilling urban fantasy. Pritkins near-immortal soul is lost in time and the reader can’t help but get pulled along on Cassie’s thrilling adventure through the ages as sets she hunts for Pritkin’s soul with Pritkin’s demon dad in tow. The pulse-pounding action is non-stop throughout this story as Cassie struggles to rescue Pritkin without ruffling too many feathers or causing a world ending paradox or two but her limited knowledge of her gift and all the people that would see her fail not only makes it extremely difficult but ratchets up the tension and for even more excitement, there are still the matter of her rogue acolytes that are scheming to bring a god across the barrier and Mircea and Jonas both wanting things to be done their way which means controlling Cassie. There are lots of strong, compelling characters in this series and Cassie is a heroine that you can’t help but be captivated by as she narrowly avoids death on an everyday basis, sometimes several times a day and her romantic life isn’t without quite a bit excitement as according to vampire law she’s married to Mircea but Pritkin sure has a way of pushing her buttons as well. Lots of tension building excitement keeps the readers on their toes throughout the well written, fast paced and smooth flowing plot with enough emotional turmoil to add depth and unexpected twists to keep reader’s guessing. Cassie’s fascinating life just keeps getting better and better, this exhilarating story is full of spectacular edge of the seat action and adventure and there was no way I could put this book down once I started reading it and of course the adventure continues and I can’t wait for it to begin.
