At Boomerang, one night can change everything…

Adam Blackwood has it all. At twenty-two, he’s fabulously wealthy, Ryan Gosling-hot and at the top of his game in the business world. His life is perfect, until a scandal from his past resurfaces and threatens to knock the tech wunderkind down and throw his company, Boomerang, a hook-up site for millennials, into chaos.

Alison Quick, the twenty-one-year-old daughter of a business tycoon—and the very ex-girlfriend of Boomerang’s former intern, Ethan—has a problem of her own. After nearly flunking out in her senior year of college, she has one chance to redeem herself to her father by proving that she deserves a place in his corporate empire. That means spearheading her father’s plan to sink big money into Adam’s company and launch it into the stratosphere—provided Adam has no skeletons in his closet.

When the two meet, their sizzling chemistry makes it tough to keep things strictly professional. But when Alison discovers Adam’s secret, she knows she should bring it right to her father, who’ll leverage it for his own gain and use it to ruin Adam. The only problem: she’s falling for Adam—hard.

Will earning her father’s approval come at the price of losing her first real love? Or can Adam and Alison leave behind past mistakes and conquer the world—together?

Reviews

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A Touching Contemporary Romance "Rebound" by Noelle August is a contemporary romance filled with humor as well as touching moments that keeps you captivated from the first page to the last. It begins when handsome millionaire and entrepreneur Adam Blackwood becomes entranced with Alison Quick, ex-girlfriend of Ethan Vance at a Hallowe'en party. Caught entangled in the Galliano's gazebo they quickly learn that Alison, the daughter of business tycoon Graham Quick will be assessing Boomerang for a sizeable investment. Determined to act professionally and to keep their infatuation with each other under control neither expects that the memory of a tragic loss or the manipulation of Alison's power-hungry father could destroy their love. The next installment of the Boomerang series is intoxicating and filled with sexual banter that lends steamy tension to the atmosphere. Determined to keep their association on a professional basis, neither Adam nor Alison can stop obsessing about each other. Haunted by a tragic accident that left him shattered and pouring his energy into his business as well as addicted to high-adrenaline sports and speed that test his endurance or leave him empty and calm, Adam's relationships have all been shallow and short until he meets Alison. Like Adam, she has built a barrier to love because of a family betrayal that left her shattered and unfaithful to her ex-boyfriend. This is a story that looks at mistakes and opportunities, and at choices that can be debilitating or make a person stronger. The characters familiar and new are realistic and unforgettable with all their flaws and faults. Adam Blackwood the CEO of Boomerang who wants to expand his company into films and television has a reputation for being a brash playboy and smart businessman. He's charming, direct and strong-willed, pouring all his energy into every project. Haunted by heartbreak he comes alive after meeting Alison, losing his heart as he gets to know her. Alison Quick who seemed cold-hearted and self-absorbed in the previous novel "Boomerang" has suffered from the betrayal of a promiscuous and controlling parent, building a wall around her heart. A young woman who trusts horses more than people, she's cordial and courteous but not overly friendly to the staff at Boomerang. Alison hides her insecurity and vulnerability behind a mask of intelligence, assertiveness and determination. Any encouragement and support has come from the loyal, trustworthy and fun-loving Philippe and Vivian Quick, her sharp-tongued, unhappy but protective mother. Grey Blackwood, Adam's stepbrother is a loyal, colourful, energetic figure who masks his Achilles's heel behind drinking, partying and a lack of responsibility while in contrast Alison's father Graham is a business tycoon who's flirtatious, pushy and calculating; a man without integrity. All these personalities and more add passion, power and drama to this riveting tale. I liked "Rebound" and recommend it highly to those that like a tender but humorous contemporary romance.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great quick read! I never read Boomerang, the first book, but since this is a sort of companion novel, it wasn't difficult to get into this book. Nothing was very confusing except for maybe a little bit of the back story of Alison and her relationship with Ethan. It also specially helps that this is a contemporary rather than a fantasy. ANYWAYS, Alison is the daughter of a CEO and as her father's representative, she is in charge of assessing Boomerang, Adam's company. Adam is the CEO of Boomerang and is often characterized by others as the stereotypical playboy, but he has a secret that he's hiding from the world, that once revealed, may damage his reputation as well as that of his company. The novel is told in a dual point of view that alternates between Alison and Adam, so we get to see both their thoughts on their situation, as well as on each other. I thought that this novel was a quick and fun read. I wouldn't call it a light and fluffy read as there is some darker bits to it. I enjoyed watching the interactions between Adam and Alison, though I have to say that I enjoyed Alison's character much more than Adam, as I find her more interesting than Adam. However, I found that the resolution at the end to be too quick to be realistic. It was almost abrupt in the way it was resolved and I expected it to be drawn out some more. I would rather have the novel be longer so that the problem is resolved at a more natural pace. I like long books anyhow. Rebound is a novel that you can speed through in one sitting. It's a great book to get you out of a book hangover.

Editorial Reviews

“Readers will enjoy seeing more of the mental and emotional level of the relationship being developed, in addition to the physical — a nice change of pace for the genre.”
