Isis Blake hasn't fallen in love in three years, forty-three weeks, and two days. Or so she thinks.

The boy she maybe-sort-of-definitely loved and sort-of-maybe-definitely hated has dropped off the face of the planet in the face of tragedy, leaving a Jack Hunter-shaped hole. Determined to be happy, Isis fills it in with lies and puts on a brave smile for her new life at Ohio State University.

But the smile lasts only until he shows up. The menace from her past-her darkest secret, Nameless-is attending OSU right alongside her. And he's whispering that he has something Isis wants-something she needs to see to move forward. To move on.

Isis has always been able to pretend everything is okay. But not anymore.

Isis Blake might be good at putting herself back together.

But Jack Hunter is better.

The Lovely Vicious series is best enjoyed in order.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not my favourite of the series but still good! Disclaimer: I received an e-ARC of this book. I chose to review it and this in no way impacts my opinion of it. When I first read Love Me Never I instantly fell in love with Isis Blake. Her wit and fast mouth kept me in love for the first two novels in the series. The third book took me longer than either of the first two to get me hooked. I found this book had a totally different feel. I understand that after the end of Forget Me Always was quite dark and so of course things would change but it was almost like Remember Me Forever wasn’t part of the series. Thankfully part way through the book Isis got her sass back and it started to feel more like the books I loved. There was one point in the book that I won’t go into detail too much because of spoilers, but I felt as if Isis became no better than Nameless. I understand that when someone hurts you as bad as he did to her, that you want to get even, but I found she lowered herself to his level and that makes her no better than him. I found there to be a few dull parts that seemed to slow down the book and we could have done without whereas the ending seemed a bit rushed and anti-climatic. I really wish we had a bit more of the witty banter between Jack and Isis that I grew to really love and look forward to in the first two novels. Overall it wasn’t my favourite book of the series, but it was still a good read. I do wish however that this novel was more like the first two. But I believe if you loved the rest of the series you will enjoy the conclusion.
