Women's employment is on the increase throughout Europe, and more women are going into managerial and professional ocupations. These changes are both cause and consequence of wider changes in the family, relations between the sexes, and social attitudes more generally. However, differences innational policies and attitudes mean that trends in women's employment show considerable variation across Europe.
