Rated 4 out of 5 by from Historical Romance This is a first-rate historical romance. Penelope Featherington is a plump, plain wallflower spinster whose destiny seems to be caring for her mother. Colin Bridgerton, the brother of Penelope's closest friend, is attractive, suave and debonair. Colin has just returned from being away. Penelope has worshiped Colin from afar for most of her life. Colin, tired of being thought of nothing but an empty-headed man about town, suddenly discovers Penelope. Together they discover each other's secrets and start to grown up. They enjoy the 'balls' in London and all the gossip that abounds. A lovely romance where the plain Jane finds Mr. Right. I especially liked Mrs. Danbury and her no nonsense approach to life.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome! This book is awesome. If you want to read an amazing series about a historical family, this book is for you. Julia Quinn has written her series on a family that is aphabetically named by age. She makes you laugh, cry and just all together smile while reading this book and the rest in the series. Look into getting them all and you won't be disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Read ! In my opinion "Romancing Mister Brigderton" is the best of the Bridgerton series. I love how the underdog Penelope finally captures Colin's heart after so many years of loving him. Although Colin seems to change his mind quite suddenly about his feelings for Penelope, first saying in other books that he would never marry her and then all of a sudden he becomes head over heals and proclaiming his love for her. But let's face it, it is a romance novel. I like the story behind it though, truly finding out who "Lady Whistledown" is really suprised me, I never saw it coming. Good story I recomend it for anyone who likes to see the underdog rise up and win the dashing Bridgerton heart.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A Good Read I enjoyed this book, and thought it was a good novel. I like the fact that Julia Quinn writes her heroes and heroines as having some sort of vulnerability or insecurity , giving the character more depth, while trying to overcome the trials and tribulations that society has put forth to them or one that they have brought on themselves. It is a way for some of the readers to relate to the characters, and feel for them. Julia Quinn is fast becoming one of my favourite authors.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Read This was a fun one...as we all know mrs. whistledown is revealed and wow! Colin is a little bit of a weak character but I think Penelope more then makes up for that.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Romancing Mister Bridgerton I have read the prequels to this novel and they have been pretty good. I was pretty excited about getting a hold of this one. Although I can't honestly say it is the best story in the series, it is worth reading. The only thing that I did not really like about the story was some of the dialogue among the characters. Sometimes it seemed to go on too long, as if the author needed to kill some time. However, as I've written, it is a pretty good summer read and am looking forward to the next entry to the series. P.S. I don't think that this novel stands alone. The reader should probably read the prequels to this novel so that that they can become acquainted with the history of the characters.
