Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fun Read Enjoyed the take on heaven and hell. Not extremely well written but very entertaining. More on the adult side of things in terms of the violence and sex. Was a great way to start the series and couldn't wait for the second book.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Totally Different I love this series. It's dark. It's different. It's anything but mainstream. Stark is the anti-hero that hates everyone and saves them anyway.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Punk and pathos, presented potently Great series, and now re-reading this first novel I'm reminded how visceral and well-crafted it is. If you want a witty, extremely violent anti-hero with a heart of gold(schlager), and a bunch of follow-ups, give it a go

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sandman Slim Good book. Kept me up. Slow in the beginning to build up the urban universe, but picked up from the middle. Unconventional interpretation of angels, demons and an anti hero.

Editorial Reviews

"The best B movie I've read in at least twenty years. An addictively satisfying, deeply amusing, dirty-ass masterpiece, Sandman Slim swerves hell-bent through our culture's impacted gridlock of's like watching Sergio Leone and Clive Barker co-direct from a script by Jim Thompson and S. Clay Wilson."
